Our social and religious traditions show lot of significance to forgiveness. Begging pardon and forgiveness should be from the core of our heart. It is necessary for social harmony also. One who is egoless can only pardon,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi while addressing the Kshma Parva on September 18. Noted Jain saint Acharya Jayant Sen Surishwar was felicitated with the title of ‘Loksant’ on this occasion. The function was presided over by national vice president of the BJP and incharge of BJP Madhya Pradesh unit Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
Shri Joshi further said if one has to take up an arm for protecting the non-violence it is not a sin, because even gods took up arms for the protection of ahimsa. He said one of the prime messages of Kshma Parva is that an individual should not hurt anybody. “We can pardon each other, but many times we don’t pardon ourselves when we ourselves commit mistakes,” he added. Presiding over the function Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe described Kshma Parva as the event for introspection. He appealed to the people that they should not do any such work, which forces them to seek pardon from themselves.
‘Deendayalji applied ideals in Practice’
Kolkata: Simplicity and intimacy were two district characteristics of Pt. Deendayalji. He not only talked about ideals but also applied them in practice. He was second Gandhi who practically materialised social and political consciousness,” said West Bengal Governor Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, while speaking at a function organised by Shree Burrabazar Kumarsabha Pustakalaya to mark the birth centenary of Deendayal Upadhyaya on September 18.
Shri Tripathi further said Deendayalji took concrete steps to eradicate untouchabiltiy. That is why Dr Lohiya described him as the biggest socialist of his time. Union Minister of State for HRD Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey said Deendayalji knew the sufferings of the people because he faced them in his life. He said the real progress of the society would be considered when the last man gets help from those who have already progressed. Union Minister of State for Finance Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal said Deendayalji taught how to maintain balance between what we say and what we do.
One lakh join ‘Voice of Unity’
Jaipur: One lakh people in Jaipur on September 21 created a record by singing Vandemataram together. The event was part of the four-day Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair (HSSF) which began from September 23. A total of 504 artists with 18 kinds of instruments presented their art. Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt Vasundhara Raje and RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sewa Pramukh Shri Gunwant Singh Kothari were present at the inaugural ceremony. Shri Ravi Kumar of Vishwa Vibhag, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sharirik Shikshan Pramukh Shri Jagdish Chandra, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Bauddhik Pramukh Shri Mukund and Kshetra Pracharak Shri Durgadas were also present on the occasion.
Shri Kothari said the objective of organising the Service Fair is to apprise the people of the sewa work being done by various religious organisations, individuals, etc. Smt Vasundhara Raje administered oath for protection of trees, wild animals, cows, water bodies, mother earth, parents, teachers, women and national heroes to the people. About 600 differently-abled children and youth also joined the event.
Food for thought to women workers
Kanpur: All India meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Samanvya Vibhag was organised from September 17 to 18 in Kanpur. A total of 154 workers from various organisations participated in the meeting. Apart from Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti Sushri Shantakka, Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Samanvya Pramukh Sushri Gitatai Gunde, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya and Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh Dr Aniruddha Deshpande guided the workers. Former Pramukh Sanchalika of the Samiti Sushri Pramilatai Medhe was also present.
Dr Manmohan Vaidya stressed the need to develop close relations with all the three forms of the media—print, electronic and web and also to develop the quality to use them with perfection for constructive use of the society. He also emphaised on the need to promote citizen journalism.
Sushri Gitatai Gunde said the work of Samanvya Vibhag began in 1991 and now it has gained momentum. She said the Vibhag provides ideological thought to the women workers active in different organisations. The Samanvya Vibhag thinks not only about the women related issues, but also the other problems faced by the society. Brutal attack on Hindu Munnani worker
Dindigul: Shankar Ganesh, an Executive Committee Member of Hindu Munnani in Dindigul unit, was brutally attacked by a gang with lethal weapons on September 19 night. Shankar was immediately rushed to the hospital and is under treatment. Miscreants escaped after the attack. Sources say the persons who attacked Shankar were recently converted to Islam. Hindu Munnani called for a protest against the jihadi activities in Tamil Nadu on September 20 and sought stern action against the miscreants. State president of Hindu Munnani Shri Kadeswara Subramaniam strongly condemned the attack and said Hindu Munnani would continue to generate awareness against jihadi activities in Tamil Nadu.
Persisting question of ‘music before mosques’
Madurai: Police used force to disperse scores of members of Ganesh Festival Committee including Hindu Munnani and BJP cadres who resorted to a road block after the officials denied them permission to play music while crossing a mosque during Vinayaka idol procession in Aruppukottai on September 9. The police picked up 17 persons, including BJP functionary Vetrivel, in this connection. Over twenty idols were being taken on a procession for immersion in Periyakulam tank. The officials had instructed the processionists to suspend drumbeat while crossing the Mohideen Andavar Jumma Mosque. However, the processionists insisted on playing the drums and squatted on the road. As the protesters did not comply with the police orders, the police used force to disperse them. Later, the idols were taken to the tank by the police and immersed. (VSK Chennai)
Gau Sanctuary in Damoh
Damoh: In order to ensure that the cows and their progenies do not move stray on the roads, a big cow sanctuary was started at Jararudham under Batiagarh block of Madhya Pradesh on September 17, birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. MP from Damoh Shri Prahlad Patel played a key role in setting up the sanctuary. There is full arrangement for fodder and drinking water for cows inside the sanctuary, and in coming years it would be developed as a big employment centre for local people.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Patel pointed out that a large number of cows in the district move stray. About 102 hectare of land has been allotted to the sanctuary and the land has been fenced. Shri Patel also announced to perform gauseva during the Navratra. There will be no
concrete construction inside the sanctuary and roads will be developed only for the vehicle. A big project for
producing energy from the cow dung and organic manure will also come up. Work will also be done to promote good indigenous breeds of the cows. Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Prant organising secretary Shri Bharat and many other distinguished people were present on the occasion.
Hindu organisations protest against forced conversion
Sullia: A large number of Hindu organisations in Mangaluru staged massive protest across the city to register their protest against the increased incidents of forced conversion in the region, on September 19. Senior RSS functionary Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat addressed the protesters. It is to be noted that Sullia is in the news for some time over the incidents of
conversion into Islam. Deekshit, 19 year old son of Janardhana Gowda from Paladka near Arambur taluk was missing from September 7. It is believed that he has undergone religious conversion. In the recent past, messages were circulated on phones about Satish Acharya (25) from Mandekolu having been converted into Islam. There are some other incidents of alleged conversion in the region.
Sarsanghachalak releases two books
Kanyakumari: RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat on September 18 released two books at Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh and Sewa Bharati organising secretaries meeting in Kanyakumari. One of the books is in Vaibhava Sri which is about Self-Help Groups. It was received by senior Pracharak of Sewa Vibhag Shri Sunderlakshman. The second book is a Tamil book, Paramananda Madhavam, which was received by Shri Govindaraj, Saksham State
president of Dakshin Tamil Nadu.
Champion of Cow Protection Movement
New Delhi: With the passing away of noted gausevek Shri Ishwar Prakash Gupta in New Delhi on September 9 the cow protection movement has lost a crusader. Protection of cows from getting slaughtered was his chosen path in life. Till the very end his commitment did not dilute on it. As a young man from Narwana, Haryana, he was in the forefront of historic 1966 cow protection movement. Along with the Shankaracharya, other senior seers and other people he fasted for the cause.
For the last many years, he was running a big gaushala, known as Gopal Gaushala in Bawana, Delhi, which he established on the instance of the late Shri Ashok Singhal. The gaushala has around 500 cows. He used to collect small contributions from his friends and relatives to run it. He used to look after the treatment of ailing cows personally with love and respect. A swayamsevak for the last about 65 years Shri Ishwar Prakash Gupta used to travel all over the country to make lifetime
subscribers of Organiser and Panchjanya. He did that from 1966 to 1975. He was in Jail during the Emergency. Though he suffered police excesses
during that period, he did not compromise for his release. In 1992, he started Ram-Lakhan Ramlila. — Vivek Shukla
Protest against Red Terror
New Delhi: Registering strong protest against the mounting Red terror on RSS-BJP workers in Kerala, Akhil Bharatiya Malayalee Sangh (ABMS), a socio-cultural organisation, conducted a candlelight vigil and protest march at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on September 17. Along with hundreds of people from all walks of life, the members and leaders of various organisations like Navodayam, Swadeshi Jagaran Mach, ABVP and BJP participated in the protest march. The day was marked by the 20th anniversary of gruesome murder of three ABVP activists, Anu PS, Sujith and Kim Karunakaran, by SFI henchmen on the campus of DB College, Parumala in 1996. Till now, no justice has been delivered to the families of the slain students.
Strongly condemning the persistent Communist violence in Kerala, Adv Kailasanatha Pillay president of Navodhayam, said, if CPM doesn’t withdraw itself from the politics of violence, it will have to pay a heavy price in the coming future. ABMS
