A new history of social amity and an Indian togetherness was created at Haridwar when the grand Thiruvalluvar Ganga Payanam led by BJP MP Tarun Vijay from Kanyakumari arrived

The Thiruvalluvar Yatra has brought people from North-South and  various political streams on the same platform

A new history of social amity and an Indian togetherness was created at Haridwar when the grand Thiruvalluvar Ganga Payanam led by BJP MP Tarun Vijay from Kanyakumari arrived and was received by the two distinguished governors, joined by a Senior Sri Lankan Minister of State Thiru Senthil Thondaman and veteran Congress MP from Tamilnadu Thiru Dr Sudarsana Natciyappan.
The Governor of UP Shri Ram Naik said that this is the day of historical importance when a great tamil sage and philosopher , who spoke for human values and gave best of gems to the society has first time being welcomed and revered in the north, on the banks of Ganga in Haridwar. The Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Shanmuganathan said that this is a day to be written in golden letters as first time a great Tamil saint-poet is being respected and revered in north Indian pilgrim centre. It fills the heart of every Tamil with joy and happiness and we are all indebted to the efforts of Tarun Vijay who made this possible.  
Sri Lankan Minister Thiru Sentjil Thondaman said that he has specially responded to the invitation extended to him by Shri Tarun Vijay and he has arrived direct from Colombo just to attend this function. A veteran Congress MP from Tamil Nadu Dr Sudarsana  Sud that a work that no Tamil MP could do has been accomplished by a North Indian from Uttarakhand and he is feeling highly inspired by this event. Swami Shantatmananda ji from Swami Dayananda Saraswati Ashram, Rishikesh said that this Thiruvalluvar is amongst the greatest of Indian sages and his eternal book Thirukkuaral is revered by all.
A large number of Tamil community members from Delhi, NOIDA, Uttarakhand cane to attend the function. Thiru R. Vaidiyanathan, Chief Editor, Tamil daily Dinamani and a renowned author said that bringing Thiruvalluvar to Haridwar is a dream come true for every Tamil world over and it will increase Tamil visitors to Haridwar. He said that unless we show respect and an understanding for Tamil literature, language and great icons of social life, we cannot achieve national unity.
Tarun Vijay, who has been championing the cause of Thiruvalluvar and spreading the message of Thrukkural said that this is a dream come true as he learnt about Thiruvalluvar and Thirukkural from RSS Pratah Smaran and that is the spirit that inspired him to spread the message of Thirukkural in the North.
Tarun Vijay thanked Prime Minister Modi and former HRD Minister Smriti Irani for helping and supporting the cause. He also expressed gratitude towards UP CM Shri Akhilesh Yadav to Irrigation Minister Shri Shiv Pal Singh Yadav and Congress leader Shri Jairam Ramesh, and CM Uttarakhand Shri Harish Rawat  for their help in a national cause rising above the party lines.
The Thiruvalluvar Ganga Payanam, which began at Kanya Kumari on18th June flagged off by Union State Minister Shri Pon Radhakrishnan at Chennai and was sent off by the Governor of Tamilnadu Dr K. Rosaiah.
