Latur: “How the collective efforts can prove fruitful in fighting against any challenge is visible in Latur, where people of the city resolved the problem of water scarcity during recent draught. The initiative is imitable for the entire country,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat on June 27. As the revival of the Manjra River is at the completion stage, the Jalyukta Latur Vyasthapan Samiti, which headed the revival campaign conducted Jalpujan at Nageshwar Temple premises.
The people of Latur have contributed in the revival of 15 km stretch of the river from Sai to Nagjhari. The Sarsanghachalak appreciated the efforts of the city people. He specifically applauded the efforts of chairman of the Samiti Dr Ashokrao Kukade who brought all people together and successfully mobilised resources for the project. The Sarsanghachalak said there may be differences in the society but when it comes to social cause we are one. Latur has shown the way. The Sangh aims to build the similar society. Instead of running away from the problem, the people fought against it and presented an example before the entire country, he added.
In the beginning, chairman of the Jalyukta Latur Vyasthapan Samiti Dr Ashokrao Kukade introduced all the 11 members of the Samiti and also presented brief information about the entire project. Shri Makrand Jadhav of Art of Living and Shri Nilesh Thakkar spoke about the outcome of the project.
Mechanical facilities cannot ensure happiness

He said the United Nation in 2012 declared March 20 as International Day of Happiness. The UN has listed six factors to measure the happiness. GDP per capita or the purchasing power of the ordinary people, years of healthy life, social cooperation, social freedom—how free one is to take his/her decisions, whether the society provides one work as per one’s talent or capacity, good governance, absent of corruption. He said instead of aping the West we should decide the standard of happiness according to our own needs. He said one should not forget that one cannot realise happiness in the production of lifeless products. The integral humanism shown by Deendayalji shows us the way for it.
Arogya Bharati workshop in Chennai
Chennai: Uttar Tamil Nadu unit of Arogya Bharati organised a day long naturopathy and life style workshop at Dr Nalli Kuppusami Vivekananda Vidhyalaya Junior College, Korattur in Chennai on June 28. Around 50 registered participants participated in this programme. Naturopathy and Yoga Consultant Shri Parameswaran conducted the programme with a very practical approach of Naturopathy in day to day life and easily adaptable methods. As a special case, he gave a free one to one personal consultation to the disease and disorders of the needed public. Chennai Mahanagar Bouddhik Pramukh Shri Nagarajan shared his experience on health perspective. Arogya Bharati appealed to the participants to be the Arogya Mitra in their locations and spread health awareness in the local area with the training and guidance from Arogya Bharati.
‘Hindu Unity is the Solution’
Nagpur: “All segments of the Hindu community need to reach out to each other and stand united. And various groups are coming together in this direction,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a gathering of the Matang Community at Chichbhuvan on June 25. MLA Shri Sudhakar Bhalerao, president of Sahitya Bhushan Annabhau Sathe Smarak Samiti Shri Ashok Bhave, executive president Shri Lahanu Ingle and many other dignitaries also shared the dais.
Shri Bhagwat said the RSS believed in unity of the Hindus. “Hence, RSS never organised programmes for a particular community. It treats the Hindus as a whole. After Independence, the divide between various social groups widened, but now the Hindu community has realised it and efforts are onto bridge the divide,” he said. He said to bridge the social divide, the RSS organises various programmes. As part of the celebration of third RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Balasaheb Deoras birth centenary year, RSS is taking up a programme to convey the message that water, temple, and crematoriums should be common for all castes and social groups.
Referring to the lament of Matang Community that it remained a neglected lot despite being Scheduled Castes, Shri Bhagwat said education and unity would yield results for them. Earlier, Shri Ashok Bhave made introductory remarks. MLA Sudhakar Bhalerao rued that Matang Community was deprived of reservation benefits though it is among the Scheduled Castes.
‘Nationwide campaign against exodus of Hindus’
Patana : Vishwa Hindu Parishad reacted strongly on the news of exodus of Hindus from several areas of Uttar Pradesh and demanded the State Government to order a judicial probe to ascertain the seriousness of the problem, find out solution and punish the culprits. It also demanded compensation to the affected families and their respectful rehabilitation to their original places. The VHP said the culprits behind the incidents should sternly be punished so that none in future think of indulging in such anti-Hindu and anti-national activities. VHP made this demand in a resolution passed at its central management committee held in Patna from June 25 to 26.
The resolution said since implications of the threat are grave, the Central government should also need to act urgently. Holding aggressive population policy of the Muslims as prime cause of the growing jihadism, the VHP urged the Central government to come with a common population policy, as the judiciary has also many a times issued direction about it. “The government also needs to constitute a comprehensive inquiry commission to study the problem of migration and also to come with solutions. The VHP is committed to curb the exodus in any part of the country. It will shortly carry out a nationwide campaign to educate the society about seriousness of it. A comprehensive survey will also be conducted to identify the areas and the families affected by this problem. The people living in those areas will be persuaded not to flee but to face the threat boldly and efforts would be made to bring back the already fled families,” the resolution said appealing to the Muslims not to make the Hindus their enemy on instigation by some anti-social elements.
Day-long camp for village temple priests
Panruti : A day-long village temple priest training camp was held at Panruti, Tamil Nadu on June 26. Starting the camp with Pranayama and Yoga, the participants were educated on performing puja during the practical session. Chanting mantras, singing bhajans and Deep puja were part of the camp. A total of 59 persons from Cuddalore and 30 persons from Vizhupuram participated in the camp.
Marking the 1,000th birth anniversary of Ramanujacharya, under the guidance of Vaishava Acharya Vilaancholai Thopu Swamigal, the streets of Panruti town witnessed a special bhajan and folk dance march. RSS Prant Pracharak Shri P M Ravikumar addressed the gathering. Prant Samarasta Pramukh Shri Guru Subramaniam, co-ordinator of Ramanujacharya 1,000th year Jayanthi Celebration Committee Shri P Mohanakrishnan, president of Faith Trust Shri Dhanasekaran were also present on the occasion.

CPM goons target Karthik’s father again
Kannur : CPM goons attacked the house of 7 year old Karthik at Iritti in Kannur District. Karthik was hacked by CPM men last month when they came to the house to kill his father Rahul, a BJP worker. But Rahul was not home at that time. Karthik had been discharged from the hospital last week after weeks long treatment. The goons came to his house on June 27 night to kill Rahul and since he was not there the angry CPM killers smashed the windowpanes of the house and pushed a scooter down. When the family members got up hearing the sound of the breaking glasses the goons ran away. Rahul told reporters that they were the same people who hacked his son last month.
