-People performing a yajna for peace and harmony at a village of Haryana

Social harmony and mutual trust in Haryana received a major dent when agitations for reservation turned violent. As the life returns to normalcy in the affected areas, Haryana unit of Samajik Samarasata Manch along with various social, cultural and religious organisations started conducting Statewide harmony yajnas and Sadhbhavna Sammelans. Till March 15, more than 1,000 Sammelans and yajnas had been organised at more than 600 places. Such sammelans and yajnas will continue till March 27 at village, tehsil, district and town level. After that a Virat Sadhbhavana Sammelan will be organised at Foodgrains Market of Rohtak on April 3. More than one lakh people from 7,500 basties, villages and communities of the State are expected to attend
the Sammelan.
According to patron of the Samajik Samarasata Manch, Haryana, Swami Gyanananda Maharaj, apart from national chess champion Anuradha Beniwal’s who through a video message made the protestors to realise their duty to the State and the country (the video went viral during the violent clashes), Olympian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, film actor Randeep Hooda, singer Himani Kapoor, many senior saints including Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Jain saint Tarun Sagar Maharaj, Juna Peethadhishwar Swami Avadheshananda Giri Maharaj, Swami Divyananda Maharaj (Kalram), Swami Param Chaitanya Maharaj, Swami Dayananda Saraswati Maharaj (Murthal), Swami Ramananda (Kharkhauda) and Hujur Kanwar Maharaj (Radha Swami) will address the gathering on April 3. He said no political leader will be allowed to share the dais. Every section of the society has been invited for the Sammelan.
The unity mantra Haryana Ek, Haryanavi Ek has clicked like a mahamantra for uniting the people. Not only the general public, school students too are telling their parents the fruits of harmony. Lakhs of students at government and private schools on March 5 pledged for unity and social harmony all over the State. They conducted rallies and marches spreading the message of mutual trust.
RSS swayamsevaks are generating awareness among the people. They collect a teaspoonful of ghee and samidha from every house for harmony yajnas so that all people come together for common cause. Leaders from various communities are coming together for restoring harmony and mutual trust in the State. Meanwhile the State government has started extending relief to the affected people. As part of the first installment, a total of 1,691 people have been granted the relief of Rs 23,45,60,587. The inquiry commission headed by retired IPS Shri Prakash Singh has already started investigating
the whole episode. A total of 2,026
FIRs have been registered against
the instigators of violence during
the agitations.
Briefing mediamen in Karnal on March 15, Swami Gyananand said the volunteers are trying to reach all 6,500 villages of the State with the message of give peace a chance. State convener of the Manch Shri Subhash Ahuja said a huge meeting would be organised in Karnal on March 22 in which people from all sections of the society will participate. He appealed to the people to keep a close watch on those who try to disturb peace and harmony in the society. He also appealed to the media to give priority to positive news. He appealed to the social media users to not share or post anything which disturbs peace in the society.
