In separate incidents, two eminent public figures of the state happened to experience the bitter taste of Communist intolerance
CPM and their front organisations once again spoke out that they are the proponents of violence and annihilation of any one and everything they cannot tolerate; they keep on blaming RSS forces for practising intolerance! This is what Kerala witnessed a few days before. The criminals of their youth and student wings attacked two different sterling personalities in a single week. One was Swami Chidananda Puri of Kozhikkode and the other one was former diplomat TP Sreenivasan.
TP Sreenivasan, currently vice chairman and executive head of the Kerala State Higher Education Council, was attacked by CPM-led SFI workers in Thiruvananthapuram on January 29. It was SFI Thiruvananthapuram District vice president JS Sarath, an accused in several cases, who was seen slapping Sreenivasan. It was near a hotel in Kovalam, the venue of the Global Education Meet which was scheduled to be inaugurated immediately. Sreenivasan was the co-ordinator of the programme. SFI was said to be protesting against the attempt to ‘commercialising of higher education’ and allowing entry of foreign universities. It has been reported that Sreenivasan had come out to welcome the delegates. According to the video footages played by the channels, protestors were found pushing the former diplomat around; one of them slapped him and he fell down.
The policemen were seen mute spectators when the whole episode took place. They did not even try to help him to get up, Sreenivasan alleged in a channel debate. It has been alleged that senior CPM leader and party’s district secretary Kadakampally Surendran was present when the senior government official was attacked.
As the incident took place no LDF or CPM leader came forward to denounce the incident. On the other hand, former state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and his colleagues in the party and student-youth wings made it a point to blame Sreenivasan for organising such an educational summit. Later Sreenivasan informed that the summit was meant for exploring the ways to improve the state’s education sector. He blamed CPM for opposing the academic reforms just like they opposed computers a few decades before.
Even though CPM was unapologetic initially, they had to change their stand as the visuals of SFI leader Sarath slapping Sreenivasan went viral in the social media. Pinarayi told the media that his initial reaction to the incident was sans knowing the real facts. Kadakampally apologised on behalf of his party. And, the police arrested Sarath and charged with IPC Sections 332 and 341.
BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan told the media that the Central Government should see the total collapse of the law and order situation in Kerala with due seriousness. Kummanam added that senior party leader O Rajagopal has already spoken to the union home minister Rajnath Singh about the situation.
Solar Scam : CM Chandy Suffers BurnsIn a statement before the Solar Judicial Commission, the prime accused Saritha Nair revealed that she had given Rs 1.90 Cr to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Solar scam has been rocking the Congress-led UDF government of CM Oommen Chandy for the last few years. But, now it seems, things have gone of CM’s hand. A few days ago, CM spent 14 hours for deposing before the Solar Judicial Commission chaired by Justice Shivarajan. Immediately after that the prime accused Saritha Nair, in her deposition before the Solar Commission on January 28, accused that she had given Rs 1.90 crores to the CM and Rs 40 lakhs to Power Minister Aryadan Muhammed. The next day, a Thrissur social worker PD Joseph filed a PIL before the Thrissur Vigilance Court (VC) praying for action against both VIPs, former minister KB Ganesh Kumar, and some other personalities belonging to the ruling apparatus. The court immediately ordered for FIR and enquiry into the charges raised by Joseph. The court even went to the extent of stating that rules are the same for CM as well as a village office staff. It was the day of high voltage political excitements. |
Attack on Swami Chidananda Puri of Kolathur Adwaidashram, Kozhikode, should be viewed in the same context mentioned above. Swami Chidananda Puri is a very famous monk in Kerala who is reputed for his spiritual wisdom and regular discourses and social outlook. On January 28, workers of DYFI, the youth wing of CPM, barged into the hall in Aroor near Vadakara, Kozhikode, where Swamiji had been conducting a spiritual discourse for a week. The red brigade attackers reached the dais and threw away the furniture. They proceeded to attack the people and shower Swamiji with verbal abuses. The programme was interrupted in a deplorable manner. It was the fifth day of ‘Haindavam 2016’, a programme organised in Aroor UP School by Saparya Dharma Seva Samiti.
BJP Demands CBI Probe into TP Murder CaseBJP’s wholehearted support to the move for re-investigation into the top-level conspiracy with respect to the murder of rebel CPM leader and founder secretary of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) TP Chandrasekharan has given a very red face to the CPM’s injuries. The issue reached new dimensions when new BJP president Kummanam Rajasekharan met TP’s widow and RMP leader KK Rema and made it clear that he would write to Narendra Modi requesting him to consider the RMP’s demand for a CBI probe into TP murder case. Kummanam has offered all possible succour to RMP in this regard. |
Swamiji, during an interaction session, had told the participants “Some people have been failing in their endeavour to propagate obsolete thoughts and ideas which are rejected by the people; therefore, they are frustrated and hence they are trying to impose their diktats in the most undesirable manner; again their misdeeds go futile sans any takers; they are exposed; they would sooner or later realise their errors.” These words of Swamiji were more than enough to provoke the tolerant CPM!
Kummanam Rajashekharan said that CPM had been ridiculing the Hindu spiritual seers through posters and speeches for the last few years. He asked the government to take stringent action against the anti-Hindu activities. T Satisan
