In the backdrop of the suicide of a PhD student, Rohith Vemula in the Hyderabad Central University campus, many new facts have emerged. While the issue of assault on a fellow student, suspension of five students are currently subjudice, what is important is to see the transition of the boy as is evident from his facebook wall. It seems that during the last few years, he was being mentored by some people who first drew him to Ambedkar Students Association from the SFI and then to the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM ) lead by the Owaisi brothers.

This is a strategy to create confusion among the Scheduled caste Hindus, to make them believe that they have been very close to Muslims from centuries. The Owaisi brothers and their party have been actively taking up this line for a few years now especially in academic institutions.
Propaganda in the name of Bhagyanagar
A senior professor from Osmania University has been going around stating that Bhagmati was a Scheduled caste and she married Quli Qutub Shah and that the name Bhagyanagar Or later Hyderabad was on this line. He thereon goes on to make a case that marriages between SC’s and Muslims have been common and that it must continue. This is an utter lie, a propaganda campaign. Unfortunately there are some people who are falling for this propaganda due to lack of information.
Pre-Partition Strategy Being Repeated
The AIMIM owes its legacy to Qasim Rizvi’s MIM. People must know that it was Qasim Rizvi who led the Razakar movement in Hyderabad against the Hindus and the Indian Union. It would be good to recall before 1947, similar attempts were made by the Muslim League. Once the goal of Pakistan was achieved, the Muslim League leadership had no use of the Scheduled Caste Hindus. Hindus from all communities were massacred as part of the Darul-Islam campaign.
The scheduled caste brethren must remember that Dr.Ambedkar himself had warned about the danger of this alliance. He warns
“The brotherhood of Islam is not the universal brotherhood of man. It is brotherhood of Muslims for Muslims only. There is a fraternity but its benefit is confined to those within that corporation. For those who are outside the corporation, there is nothing but contempt, slavery and enmity.”
The visionary that Ambedkar was, could see through the strategy. Visionaries like Ambedkar could easily have seen that there is not much difference between the ideology of the Muslim League, that of the MIM and that the present day AIMIM is only a repackaging of the old MIM .
The Hindu society has faced many onslaughts in the past. Like any society, we have our share of weaknesses. The society has time and again come up with corrective measures to address the weaknesses and we must continue to make positive efforts in that direction.
At the same time, we must be wary of the forces that try to further their causes by pitting one group with another or trying to wedge away groups by spreading hatred against others and at the same time posing as their messiah.
We must Rise and tackle these strategies as one force.
