News Round-up : 75 years of RSS Prarthana

Rashtriya Swayamsevaks Sangh (RSS) swayamsevaks across the world celebrated the 75th anniversary of Sangh prarthana—‘Namaste Sada Vatsale Matru-bhoome…’ on May 18. The prarthana was first publicly sung by the RSS Pracharak Yadavrao Joshi on May 18, 1940 at Sangh Shiksha Varg held in Nagpur. During the same period, at another Sangh Shiksha Varg held in Pune, the prarthana was sung by Pracharak Shri Anantrao Kale. This prarthana is in Sanskrit except the last line—‘Bharatmata ki jai’, which is in Hindi. It is compulsory to sing the prarthana in all programmes of the Sangh. The prarthana was written by Shri Narahari Narayan Bhide, a Sanskrit professor under the guidance of Dr KB Hedgewar and Shri Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar and other senior RSS leaders during 1940. The RSS activities are based on daily Shakhas. Each Shakha has the prarthana at the end. (VSK Karnataka)


Soniji visits Prabodhini Gurukul in Hariharapura

RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Suresh Soni visited Prabodhini Gurukul in Hariharapura near Sringeri in Karnataka on May 12. Shri Soni was accompanied by Shri CM Krishna Shastri of Samskrita Bharati and Shri Krishna Shastri, mentor of the Prabodhini Gurukul. Shri Soni interacted with the students of the Gurukul and also offered special prayers to ‘Vishwambhar’, the statue of Lord Shiva in the premises of Gurukul. n


Atalji is truly a Jannayak : Ram Naik

Uttar Pradesh Governor Shri Ram Naik released the special issue of Rashtradharma in Lucknow on May 12. The issue is dedicated to Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee. Releasing the issue, Shri Naik recalled his five decades long association with Atalji and described him a true Jannanyak. “He is the only Jannayak, who has combination of firm determination and soft heart. His personality is magnetic which impresses even his opponents,” the Governor said.
Shri Naik said by conferring Bharat Ratna on Vajpayeeji the government has tried to bring his sympathisers together. “There are many moments in my life when I received guidance and love of Vajpayeeji. He has the quality of paying attention to any suggestion given to him by his associates,” he said.
BJP general secretary organisation Shri Ramlal said Vajpayeeji has a multifarious personality which is beyond any discussion. Dr Satish Chandra Rai who has been close associate of Atalji, said Rashtradharam, Atalji and Lucknow are in seperable. Senior BJP leader Shri Lalji Tondon also shared his long association with Atalji. Rashtradharam editor Shri Anand Mishra ‘Abhay’ introduced the special issue. RSS Kshetra Pracharak Shri Shivnarayan, Prant Pracharak Shri Sanjay, Sah Prant Pracharak Shri Ramesh and many other distinguished personalities were also present on the occasion.


Swayamsevaks clean the premises of historic Virabhadreshwara Temple

RSS swayamsevaks cleaned the premises of historic Sri Virabhadreshwara Temple near Maaranagere in Tiptur of Tumakuru District on May 17 as a part of the Sewa Sanghik. The initiative of the swayamsevaks was appreciated by one and all. In the photo the swayamsevaks are seen cleaning the premises.


Tribute to quake victims by Indian artists

Top artists from different parts of the country assembled at Teen Murti Auditorium of New Delhi on April 14 to pay tribute and also to express solidarity to the earthquake victims of Nepal. The function, Peer Parvat See was organised by Sanskar Bharati. More than 200 noted artists attended the function. The call to join the function was given by internationally fame Bhajan singer Shri Anup Jalita and noted writer Shri Narendra Kohli. Leading artists representing various sections of the art like classical dance, singing, folk dance, folk singing, theater, films, painting and literature expressed their solidarity with the earthquake victims.
Noted dancer of Bharatnatyam and Odishi Padma Vibhushan Dr Sonal Man Singh sang a bhajan of Meera. Padmashri Ustad Vasifuddin Dagar presented Shivstuti in Dhrupad style, noted Bansuri Vadak Pt Chetan Joshi and Pt Nagraj Havaldar presented bhajans. The presentations by Shekhar Jain, Shri Pranjal Saikia, Shri Gajendra Solanki and Shri Anup Jalota left deep impact on the audience. When all the performances were on, national president of Sanskar Bharati Shri Vasudev Kamath was presenting the tragedy of Nepal on canvas through colours.
Founder of Sanskar Bharati Baba Yogendra inspired all to collect money for the earthquake victims.


Seminar on integral humanism in BHU

Pragya Pravah and Departments of Economic and Political Science in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) jointly organised a two-day international seminar on Integral Humanism and Cultural National at KN Uduppa Auditorium of the University. Addressing the gathering, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal said India has a distinguished tradition of philosophy, which believes in welfare of all. He said the western countries want to impose their definition of nation on us by calling Bharat as India. The western premise of nation is based on separatism while our premise of nation is based on oneness. Chief Guest Dr Murli Manohar Joshi said an exploitation-free society can be created only by the implementation of the treatise of Deendayal Upadhyaya. Dr Sadananda Sapre, national convener of Pragya Pravah, said the theory of integral human provides solution to many problems of the society. BHU Vice Chancellor Prof Girish Chandra Tripathi said our sages and rishis propounded the concept of inclusive growth. They did not see the world into pieces but in totality. Seminar convener Prof Adya Prasad Pandey spoke about the BHU. A total 88 research papers were presented at the seminar and about 300 scholars attended the seminar.

Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation Shri Subhash Arya said the children of the Hindu refugees from Pakistan who are languishing in different parts of Delhi would be allowed admission in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools. Apart from it they would also be granted facilities to be given to the OBC students. Shri Arya said it while distributing ration to the Pak Hindus at Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi on May 17. The ration was provided by the Bhagini Nivedita Sewa Nyas, a VHP inspired charitable trust.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Mahavir Prasad Gupta, general secretary of the Trust, said they are making all efforts to extent the Pak Hindus all possible help in India. Shri Gupta, who has been helping such families for many years, appealed to the well to do people of the national capital to provide these families every possible help. A total of 91 families were provided with ration on the occasion.
