Samarasata Nagar, the makeshift city set-up for the three-day Second Rashtriya Sewa Sangam joining together three resorts—City Park, Blue Sapphire and MH1—on National Highway-1, GT Karnal Road in Outer Delhi, is ready to welcome over 3,000 delegates of more than 700 Sewa organisations from across the country. According to Deputy General Secretary of the Rashtriya Sewa Bharati Shri Guru Sharan Prasad, the organiser of the three day event, the Samarasata Nagar consists of three sub cities—Bhagini Nivedita Nagar (City Park), Swami Vivekananda Nagar (Blue Sapphire) and Swami Akhandananda Nagar (MH1). The main hall is named after third RSS Sarsanghachalak the late Balasaheb Deoras.
The theme of the event is Samaras Bharat, Samarth Bharat. An exhibition has been planned to showcase the entire theme. About 55 stalls will be created by different participating organisations. The exhibition is to be inaugurated by Swami Rajeshwar-ashram Maharaj in the presence of noted film director, producer and screenwriter Subhash Ghai. Dr Subhash Chandra, chairman of the Essel Group, is chairman of the Reception Committee. The exhibition will have an exclusive Photo Gallery and an Audio Visual Presentation to highlight the giant strides made by various units of the Rashtriya Sewa Bharati.
“Prime objective of the Sewa Sangam is to offer a bird’s perspective of various social service organisations which are playing a pivotal role in bringing about a decisive change in the socio-cultural fabric of the nation. The event will offer tremendous amount of motivation and confidence amongst the participants to get an ocean of information about the role of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati in the country, bringing them at the centre stage with the towering national leaders and social workers, hailing from diverse carders of the Rashtriya Sewa Bharati at an all India scale. The magnitude of opinion builders and decision makers will also be a catalyst in mobilising a mass momentum to serve the nation with a missionary zeal. By and large the Sewa Sangam will turn the dream of ‘Samaras Bharat, Samarth Bharat’, into a national pledge and will be an iconic theme to make all the participants self-enthusiastic about the goals and objectives laid down by the Rashtriya Sewa Bharati to integrate the entire nation at large,” Shri Gurusharan Prasad said.
One more uniqueness of the Sewa Sangam will be the participation of about 500 women workers. A similar kind of event was organised by the Rashtriya Sewa Bharati in Bengaluru in February 2010. Rashtriya Sewa Bharati is an umbrella organisation for Sewa organisations catering to impoverished, underprivileged and the destitute section of the society through a relentless crusade, being launched by the dedicated and committed taskforce of selfless, social volunteers, and drawn from various branches of the Sangh at a pan India scale. It has grown by leaps and bounds as one of the India’s frontline, community service driven voluntary organisation, which is embedded with patriotic and nationalist values and virtues, being percolated to the last mile beneficiary.
The Sewa Sangam will be inaugurated by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi at 10 am on April 4 in the presence of renowned industrialist Shri Atul Gupta as chief guest. At 5 pm the same day the RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi will enlighten the participants on topical social issues and concerns. On April 5, at 10.30 am, a public programme will be organised involving eminent 500 national leaders. RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat and Wipro Chairman Shri Azim Premji will address this session. The closing session will be held on April 6 at 11.00 am and RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale will address the participants. –Pramod Kumar
