Intro: In the wake of barbaric crimes against Hindus in Pakistan, the pertinent question that needs an answer is; can Pakistani Hindu retaliate? Or are they suppose to thank the offenders for the offence they commit? ?
It is not surprising when you come to know that a Hindu girl is been abducted, raped, converted and forcefully married in Pakistan. In a recent incident, Hindu minor girl, Anjali Meghwar was abducted and then forcibly converted in Bhurchunddi Sharif Dargah, in Ghotki district, Pakistan on October 30, 2014.
While the court has denied justice to the abducted Hindu girl, her family has been subjected to organised attack. As usual once again justice was denied to the abducted Hindu girl despite having all the proofs, and her forced marriage with one of the abductees Riaz Siyal was not nullified.
Though the court had to admit that the girl was not even a teenager but a 12 years old Hindu kid, as her birth certificate indicated, her husband Riaz Siyal was not charged with pedophilic offenses nor his brothers were nabbed for the abduction. Rather, the session court referred the victim to a shelter home despite her telling that she was threatened and would be killed and wanted to go home. Offender Siyal and his brothers on the other hand have been set scot free.
Post the verdict, the victim’s family faces more threat from her in-laws. The offenders had thought they would get the right to rape the victim. However due to the availability of documents, the session court was prevented from legalising the marriage.
It is suspected that the Pakistan People’s Party kingmaker Mian Mitho is found to be involved in this case. Earlier also Mitho was involved in the abduction and exploitation of Hindu girls. According to sources, he is alleged to exclusively use his mosques and madrasas for prostitution and communal sex crimes. It is said; he prepares a list of local Hindu female kids on monthly basis and then abducts them.
“We keep some rat killing poison at stock every time. Yesterday, I gave a chunk of them to my daughters, all three of them, and instructed them that at the slightest sound of clash outside, eat it,” told a Hindu lady, mother of three children.
Pakistani Hindus are used to be at the beating end at both sides. Victim’s father, Kundan Meghwar, lost his kid to pedophiles and when he asked for justice, the court denied that and rather his family was attacked by ‘Bad Muslims’ while ‘Good Muslims’ stood as smiling spectators.
Pakistan Dalit Solidarity Network (PDSN) and Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PILER) have condemned the abduction and the forcible conversion of the 12-year old Hindu girl in Daharki in Ghokti district and demanded the arrest of the culprits including the religious clerics who performed the marriage.
In a joint statement PDSN coordinators Dr Sono Khangharani and Zulfiqar Shah and PILER’s chief executive Karamat Ali have said that the police were not arresting the accused in the kidnapping case and the local court had sent the girl to Darul Aman in Karachi despite she having stated in the court room that she wanted to go with her parents.
Few days back on October 24 another young girl Kajal Bheel, daughter of Mohan Laal Bheel was also abducted from her home at Udero Laal town in the district of Matiari in Sindh, Pakistan. Many such incidents have been reported in other parts of Sindh in recent months. Anjali belonged to the same city of Deharki where two years back another 17-year old Rinkle Kumari was abducted and then converted.
The Constitution and laws in Pakistan do not allow child marriages before the age of 18. The Constitution of Pakistan, under its Article 36 provides safeguard to the minorities. This is the worst form of extremism against Hindu Dalits in Sindh, they stated.
The Hindus of Daharki had observed a shutter-down strike, while protests were being carried out in other cities of Sindh to condemn the incident. Human Rights Commission of Pakistan have expressed their anguish over the gruesome cases of rape, forced conversion, forced marriages and murder of young Hindu Dalit and other minority girls in Sindh and other parts of Pakistan.
PDSN demands that all those who are involved in this incident should be arrested immediately and Pirs, Sardar, Sarhandi and others, which are involved in such activities of forced conversions in Sindh should be banned. —Bureau Report?
