Intro: Communist Party of India (Marxist) agrees NaMo leadership is the need of the hour. They accept that Communist Party made a serious error of rejecting nationalism and icons like Swami Vivekananda, and Bhagat Singh, etc. ?

Lot of activists from several organisations are joining Sangh parivar, especially Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala these days. They are from different groups and parties and even from Congress. Some others are from Janadhipathya Samrakshna Samithi (JSS), led by KR Gowri Amma, former CPM stalwart who recently switched her loyalty from Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) to CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF). But most of the new entrants are from BJP’s most powerful ideological opponent CPM, thanks to the increasing popularity of BJP and other Sangh parivar organisations and of course the new political power equation in Delhi.

Kerala

In Kannur district itself, hundreds of CPM cadres are joining BJP. Until recently the district was infamous for brutal clashes and political assassinations. Hundreds of RSS and BJP workers have sacrificed their life there for upholding the nationalist Hindutva ideology. There BJP took it a point to welcome the cadres of other parties in a festive mood. Senior BJP leaders like PK Krishnadas, K Surendran, etc. addressed the gatherings.

?The CPM exodus is effective in more than 5 districts. Next major BJP welcome programme for CPM workers is in Thiruvananthapuram. A former CPM area committee secretary and his followers in large number have joined BJP. His wife, a former Panchayat President, resigned from CPM and contested as BJP candidate during the recent elections. More
CPM cadres are in the process of joining BJP.
CPM cadres and leaders, during personal conversations agree that NaMo leadership is the need of the hour. Some even go to the extent of admitting that Indian Communist Party made the capital error of rejecting nationalism and icons like Swami Vivekananda, Bhagat Singh, etc. They say that, their predecessors in the party should have practised what Lenin had advised MN Roy, that is, to be a part of the nationalist movement. They say that they would have enjoyed the space BJP holds now, if they had implemented what Lenin told Roy.
This is evident in student front also. ABVP won elections in all Poly Technique Institutions which went to polls last week. Recently a Poly Technique was in news for giving obscene story of Narendra Modi, BJP and Bharatmata. Obviously magazine editor belonged to Student’s Federation of India (SFI). Even though Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) did not have much organisational base there, this time ABVP candidate won the election to the prestigious position of magazine editor – A sweet revenge to SFI’s misdeeds. Students in general and ABVP activists in particular believe that this year ABVP is going to earn fabulous popularity and bag more election results.
Stories of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) are also not much different. As expected, CPM is getting nervous day by day, thanks to the aforementioned developments.
P Jayarajan, prominent CPM leader from Kannur, is reported to have stated that his party would oppose the Janmashtami Shobhayatra of Balagokulam. Janmashtami Shobhaya-thra has been a unique annual fest in Kerala drawing the attention and participation of Keralites cutting across and party and even religious lines. In another words, CPM’s next target seems to be a children’s movement; reason simple: It belongs to Sangh parivar!
