The much talked alliance of political enemies, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav, after 23 years had failed to live up to their own expectations when only a few hundred people turned up to witness the grand alliance in this of politics, barely 35 kms from the state capital, Patna, Hajipur on August 11. Similar instance has been noticed in Samastipur rally also.

In the LS elections, RJD got 20.6 per cent votes, JD (U) 15.8 per cent votes, and the Congress 8.2 per cent. With over 44 per cent votes together against the BJP-led NDA”s 40 per cent votes, the duo would appear clear winner. But, the school playground in which they addressed the meeting was almost empty and a major patch was occupied by visiting journalists and party workers.
