Opinion On Jihad: World should wake up to global jihad
Any effort which helps the Muslims individually or collectively for their social, religious and political advancement is Jihad. It is a sacred word for Terror which in Islam is the way of life sanctioned by Allah and established by Mohammad who believes according to Quran all nonbelievers (non Muslims) should be eliminated and the wealth and property of the western countries – their sworn enemies- should be destroyed to establish the kingdom of Allah. This belief and thinking has led to the killing of thousands of non-believers and responsible for destruction of property worth billions.
The terrorism according to the U S research is backed by Iranians, Palestinians and Libyans. The report says Jamate Islami Hizbil Islami and Hizbul Mujahideen, etc. is providing assistance to Islamists from Egypt, Lebanon, FIS (The Islamic Salvation Front) in Algeria and in Sudan. Founded in Algiers on 18 February 1989 in the al-Sunna mosque in Bab el Oued, the FIS was legalised by the Interior Ministry on 16 September 1989.
The FIS centres its ideology on the strict respect of Islamic values. This means legislation has to defer to the imperatives of the Sharia in all fields. The concept of democracy is assimilated to atheism, and the legalisation of parties which recommend contradicting Islam is condemned.
There are more than 125 such terrorist organizations engaged in global Jehad.
Within India,The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), Naxalites, Nepal maoists, Al-Qaeda are all coordinating their terrorist activities and trainings. Their aim of spreading Islam through violence is the genesis of their global jihad.

The Continuous attack on India by Islamic jihadis, fully trained and equipped by Pakistan’s terrorist intelligence agency the ISI, and with the contribution of Pakistan army and naval units is a war on India. What makes the Mumbai terror attacks unique is not only the scale and audacity but also a clear pattern of global jihadist strategy that has now begun to move into a different phase altogether. Unfortunately, the current media thinking remains myopic and mired in the murky depths of political correctness. What clearly emerges is the unmistakable goal of Wahabi Islam to establish Islamic rule over the entire world i.e. Darul Islam (meaning house of Islam). This is an approaching global conflict in which all civilized nations like India, Europe and the US will be pitted against an uncompromising and violent religion, whose very purpose of existence is the end of human freedom, peace, security and civilization as was perfectly predicted long back in the proposed theory ‘The Clash of Civilizations’, by political scientist Samuel P.Huntington.
How prepared is the world for this conflict hovering over its head? Do the current leaders of free nations, including India and US recognize that we are facing a new dangerous sophisticated enemy? Will need collective deliberation.
With weapons of mass destruction like stolen nuclear technology and chemical weapons slowly finding their way into the hands of the jihadis, this approaching conflict assumes a far more frightening dimension. The incredible sophistication of modern weapons and its proliferation have enabled small number of criminal minded persons to do great harm. The S A- 7 is a Soviet heat seeking precision guided missile which can be carried comfortably on a man’s back and can destroy a plane at the altitude of 6500 feet. There are many such weapons with Jihadis. Fundamentalist Muslims believe that supporting Jihadis in finance, arrangement of arms, secret hiding place and secret information ensures their passage to heaven. This faith spreads terrorism and makes the arrest of a terrorist difficult.
An undemocratic Pakistan has always received big aid in the form of money and arms with false promises of curbing terrorism. But this aid has been used by Pakistan to strengthen the base of global terrorism for which it is preparing itself since its very inception. It is no secret that the self generating and self sustaining jihadi terrorism has emanated from radical backward looking Wahhabism and Salafism fed on Saudi money and Pakistan’s patronage – a launching pad for terrorism – throughout the world. This has resulted in mushrooming of mosques and madrasas across the world that preaches ideology of hate. Kashmir Valley near Pakistan and Afghanistan border is an ideal place for world’s biggest terrorist center. Hence Pakistan and some Muslim countries are desperate to seize it. It’s time world takes notice that Kashmir belongs to Muslims of India, and not that of Pakistan.
The funding of Jihadis: The Saudi Government has admitted to spending more than $ 87 billion over the last decade in an effort to spread Wahhabism through creation of Mosques, Madarsas and other institutions who promote global Islamic terrorist movement.
Furthermore terrorist organizations have created links with Russian mafia, Columbian drug cartel and other criminal organisations. Drug trafficking, an estimated $ 2 trillion market per year has become the best weapon for terrorists. Today the danger from Taliban is increasing by leaps and bounds. It should be understood by the US that in the end Pakistan and Taliban will unite to fulfill their ultimate aim of Islamisation of the world. Ideologically the armies, ISI, clerics of Pakistan are already with Taliban.
Today, the destruction of wealth by terrorists is pushing the world into permanent economic recession. For instance, due to the 9/11 event where in just two buildings in New York were destroyed, the entire world economy was pushed to recession. Areas infested with terrorism including Muslim countries lose their share in economic development, as terrorists destroy precious public properties. As a consequence entrepreneurs fear investing, and the cost of movement of goods increases due to higher insurance costs and increased security checks at post making trading activities all the more expensive.
It is a comforting sign that President Obama has realized the challenge from the global jihad and has stopped financial and other aid to Pakistan. According to the Times of India report “Obama administration is quietly signaling continued support for other major elements of George Bush’s approach to fighting Al-Qaeda.” The US also realizes that as the ISI and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) combined poses a bigger threat to its security and prosperity, India and South Asia could be one of the poles of this transformation. And that, if these facts are ignored, the world will have to face serious consequences.
India has been suffering from the inhuman atrocities of religious terrorism since a thousand years. But due to its noble philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – ‘The whole world is one family’ and of its outlook of viewing the world with friendly eyes, Veda, etc., peace-loving India has never retaliated. When after Mumbai 26/11 attack which killed 166 people and injured 300, India strongly pressed Pakistan to send some terrorists to India for interrogation; Pakistan flatly refused to do so and threatened India with war.Pakistan is continuing to teach hatred towards India to students in its schools though text books containing false history (Times of India 27.12.2008). And ultimately those who have been indoctrinated into taking up arms in the name of martyrdom willkeep satisfying themselves with the fact that they are doing what the Hazrat Mohammad Saheb in Hadith has ordained Muslims to do.
