Massive rallies in Congress, Communist bastions of Assam, Manipur and Kerala
The unprecedented turn out at the rallies of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi like in Kerala, Manipur and Guwahati, which have never been stronghold of the BJP, shows the clear mood of the nation. The turn out in the rally of Bhubaneswar too was very encouraging. In all these rallies Shri Modi set an agenda before the voters and appealed to them to vote for the nation and not for any individual.
Communists always took anti-national stand
The Pongal festival at Attukal Devi Temple, where lakhs of women converge to offer rice cooked with jaggery and ghee to Durga Devi is the biggest crowd-puller in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. And almost competing with this, lakhs of young, old, children and women flooded into Thiruvananthapuram Shangu-mugham (conch-faced) Beach on February 9 creating a human sea beside the waves lashing water mass. On February 8 itself, thousands had come on motorbikes from all over Kerala.
“Bengal and Kerala have poverty, unemployment and violence whereas Gujarat has non-violence, peace and development. The UDF and LDF are doing ‘Jugalbandhi’, shadowboxing and deals behind purdah. Their deal is, you loot for 5 years and I will loot for 5 years. Each is hiding loot/sin of others. This is going on for 60 years. Bharat doesn’t need a third alternative. People have already sounded the conch for a sea change. What is needed is a third alternative in Kerala and that is the BJP,” said Shri Modi while addressing the Maha Sammelan.
“I support butchered TP Chandrasekharan’s widow’s demand for a CBI probe and also demand the same on KT Jayakrishnan murder and Marad massacre.” Coming down heavily on the communists, Shri Modi said they opposed Quit India Movement in 1942, called Gandhi-fraud-son, Nehru-British boot-licker, Bose-British boot licker and hoisted black flags on 15th August upto 1957. “Delay in project implementation is causing huge loss to Kerala. Both conceptualised in 1998, the LNG Terminal in Gujarat was commissioned for 200 crores, whereas with 4500 cores already invested, we do not know, whether it will commissioned in Kochi in 2014,” he said.
“There is a Kerala connection to every terror act in the nation. Kerala has become haven of liquor/drug users. Kerala has to be saved from terrorism, murder politics, liquor and drugs. If Kerala youth are saved, Bharat is saved. A movement is needed to save Kerala,” he added.
Massive turn out in Guwahati and Imphal
Assam witnessed one of its biggest political rallies of recent times on February 8 when Shri Modi addressed a mammoth public meeting in Guwahati. Rough estimates put the crowd between over 2 lakh. Modi succeeded in bringing the focus on the BJP as a viable alternative. His agenda is to involve the people in nation building supported by good governance and a transparent and dedicated administration that works and delivers. He promised no paradise. Instead he wanted to involve the people of Assam, which is endowed with natural wealth and good human resources in work to save the lost paradise.
In Imphal rally the attendance was more than one lakh. For the BJP, which does not have much presence in the State, such magical numbers came as a moral booster and proved that Shri Modi had struck a chord in the hearts of the people of the region. But will the Modi magic convert this massive public response into votes in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections?
Bhubaneswar: Third Front will make the nation Third Grade
Narendra Modi kick started the party’s campaign for Lok Sabha elections in Bhubaneswar on February 11. He termed Odisha’s Naveen Patnaik’s 14 years regime as the period that ruined Odisha. “I ruled Gujarat for 14 years, so also your Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Modi said adding,“humne Gujarat me kamal kar dia our Odisha ko unhone barbad kar dia(I took Gujarat to pick of development, while Naveen Patnaik ruined Odisha).
Naveen owes an explanation why Odisha’s younger generation migrating to other states in search of work and income, Modi said adding Odisha has huge potentiality, which the Chief Minister utterly failed to convert them to opportunities for aspiring Odiya youths.
“I need 21 kamals (lotuses) from Odisha to usher in the change that the state badly needs. Unless there is a direct ‘pipeline’ from here to New Delhi and me, I cannot do much for your state even if I become the Prime Minister. While the latter has marched ahead, Odisha had not moved an inch and remained the poorest state despite its abundant natural resources, Modi said addressing the mammoth rally in Bhubaneswar.
He said theThird Front means to help the Congress. “Those who advocate for the ‘third front’ have to be taught a lesson,” he said. “Eleven parties have come together to form third front. Out of them, nine are old supporters of the Congress. But when the election season comes, they wear the mask of the ‘third front’. This front has only one agenda-to save the Congress. We have to unmask them and understand their real game plan,” he said.
BJP president Rajnath Singh hit out at the BJD and UPA governments for allowing private miners to loot the mineral resources at the expense of the state’s people and demanded a CBI inquiry into the scam. The Centre has tabled only one volume of the 5-volume Shah Commission report in the Parliament because the government wants to bury the report and avoid a proper inquiry. So, a CBI probe into the scam should be conducted to unearth the truth,” he said.
