In the election year, political theater of India has become dramatic and many confusing scripts are written by the ruling dispensation. With the worst record of passing the least number of Bills in its full 5 year term, 165 as opposed to an average of 317 Bills by any full term Governments, UPA is trying to sell everything through newly pumped Bharat Nirman Campaign. Parliamentary democracy is at ransom with all the Government Bills are remained nothing but an attempt of scoring brownie points before elections. Telangana is in tumble with stage managed revolt within the Andhra Congress. With appointment of hurried conceived Lok Pal is in disarray, other anti-corruption Bills can only work as postures to counter AAP contours. Aadhar itself requires some support as there is a lot of confusion about its utility within the Government. 39 Bills listed in this Parliament session will unlikely to be passed and Opposition will be blamed. The reality is all the parliamentary and policy matters are bound to crumble due to the pressures of contradiction between the Congress Party and the UPA Government and among the constituents of the UPA Government.

The handling of issues outside the Parliament is amusingly baffling. Despicable attempts to bring caste reservations and communal violence issues by the brains of the ruling dispensation are conveniently negated and supported by the leadership. The misuse of investigating agencies for targeting the Opposition continues unabated while talking about reforming them. Ruling parties in the capital are expressing solidarity with the North-eastern students, without providing protection to them. Handling of Centre-State relations with political considerations are resulting into blame games and sub-nationalist tendencies. Blind eye towards these key national issues is mainly because of lack of clarity on it.

A cursory view of economic policies sharpens the confusions. many populist schemes are funded, unpaid bills of the Government companies, including that of oil majors, are not recovered, 7 th Pay Commission is declared and many such attempts will be made to bribe voters. Granting three more LPG cylinders, as per the wishes of the dynastic command, will add up to the debt. Harsh duty on gold imports has sufficiently encouraged Hawala transactions. Worst confusion is, all the schemes sold politically as social welfare and justified economically in the name of reducing fiscal deficit. The result is unfriendly investment climate while making policy pronouncements on FDI.

The conventional tricks of the Congress to bribe voters with populist schemes, identify the scapegoats within the party, demonise nationalists with the communal tag and play worst kind of vote-bank politics are miserably failing with the changing configuration of Indian psyche. The dynastic leadership has shown no ability or intention to connect to the aspirations of the masses. The common Indian people can no longer be carried away either by pre-election dramatics or politics of primordial identities. They are fed up with the misuse of constitutional machinery for the partisan and family purpose. The confusing signals are adding to their desperation against the paralytic Government. The anger against this dysfunctional Government is so profound that people are using all fora to express their outburst. The selective amnesia and perplexing actions of the AAP is creating anarchy in the capital. Emergence of a new formation in the name of third front historically has been disastrous and can only add up to the uncertainty. The only way to get rid of such dusky environment is to establish clarity of thought and purpose for consolidating the energies of the masses.
