BJP discusses Mission 272+ with the CMs

V Shanmuganathan

On  December 24, 2013, Smt Vasundra Raje, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Dr Raman Singh were given dignified reception in the party headquarters in New Delhi. Enthusiastic karyakartas profusely sprinkled flowers on their beloved Chief Ministers. The occasion was not ordinary. It was historic moment of success.  On the same day around 11 am Parliamentary Board  met and honoured them for their remarkable work and overwhelming support of the masses. Then in the afternoon around 3.30 pm all the national office bearers, election campaign committee members and state presidents, Prabharis met them with Shri Narendra Modi and heard their success stories. Subsequently, the strategy for upcoming Lok Sabha elections was also discussed  with the victorious leaders.

Smt Vasundra Raje, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, narrated about the excitement of people throughout the state about the wonderful success. It is mainly because of the grand electoral preparations with minute details.  She said, “over 45000 booth committees were formed. She also said that recent election results proved that the BJP could get votes from the Scheduled Castes and even Muslims.

Dr Raman Singh said the victory of Chattisgarch assembly elections was due to the support of five  lakh  unorganised labourers and common people. The entire vanvasi belt voted in favour of BJP.

Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, spoke about his mission 29. In the coming Lok Sabha elections, the entire state is geared up to win all the Parliament constituencies. There was a reporting about the Run for Unity campaign. Shri Modi described it as a matter Rashtrabhakti and an effort to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of people of India. Run for Unity, on the same day, with a common theme, in maximum number of places and people created a world record.

Shri Narendra Modi gave a stress for quickly completing the work without any lapse. All our karyakartas, 3 crore primary members and 70 lakh active members should involve themselves whole heartedly. Sardar Patel  was a great symbol of National Unity. Sardar Patel  himself a farmer. So we should collect one piece of iron from the farming materials from each village.

During the election campaign committee meeting, all the Chief Ministers, all India office bearers and state presidents gave various suggestions and opinions.

Shri JP Nadda said for mission 272+ we need to enroll volunteers from all parts of the country and from all sections of the society. We are planning to develop a database with full details of the new volunteers. In every rally,  we shall declare the common number 078200 78200 on which all those who wish to volunteer for work can give a missed call. As soon as they give a missed call on this number, they get a welcome message and the process of enrollment will start.

Praise from Unprecedented Quarters

After getting clean cheat in the alleged conspiracy behind 2002 Gujarat riots from the Court and UPA government continuing with the witch-hunt by constituting a Commission of Inquiry in the alleged snooping case BJPs Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has received support from unprecedented quarters. On the one hand, the powerful Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church showered praises on him for his development programmes in Gujarat while PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said that certain sections in Kashmir valley consider Modi as ‘decisive’ and ‘positive’.

Baselius Mar Thoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan of the Orthodox Church, said in Kottayam that many believers belonging to the Orthodox Church run industries in Gujarat feel that the development programmes of Modi are exemplary as there is no red-tapism. Going a step further, the Orthodox Church head also said that there was nothing wrong in supporting Modi provided he could show religious tolerance. While speaking at the Idea Exchange Programme of Indian Express, the opposition leader in J&K Assembly said, “there is another section of people which probably thinks that maybe Modi is the one who will have such authority that he will be able to take certain tough decisions (regarding Kashmir issue). Both these reactions are indicative of Modi getting larger acceptability in every section and corner of India.
