VHP patron Shri Ashok Singhal heavily criticised the knee-bending approach of the UPA government and said such an approach is proving costly to the nation. In a statement issued from Ayodhya on June 25, Shri Singhal said, the soft approach towards terrorists is only encouraging the jehadis and the common people are suffering heavily.
“The jehadis have now started attacking the security personnel and the government has failed to curb such attacks due to its soft approach towards terrorism. The continuation of this government is itself a danger bell for the nation. Not allowing the army to take stern action against the jehadis can prove suicidal,” he said in the statement.
The VHP stalwart appealed to the countrymen to force the government to take retaliatory action against the jehadis and terrorists. “Similar inefficiency was witnessed the recent natural calamity in Uttarakhand. It is basically the inefficiency of the State and Central governments which is responsible for the death of so many pilgrims during the calamity. It is basically the result of the damage caused to the Himalayas, attempting to kill the holy rivers like Bhagirathi, Mandakini, Alaknanda, and ignoring the warnings of the great saints and the personalities. The local people and the pilgrims will never excuse this inefficiency of the government,” Shri Singhal said. —Bureau Report
A seminar was also organised on environment protection and plantation. Participating in the discussion vice president of Kalyan Ashram Shri Kripa Prasad Singh appealed for mass plantation of saplings and preservation of environment to make the future safe. He said deforestation has created many problems for both the human beings and wild creatures. Shri AK Mukherjee, CCF, demonstrated a different technique of plantation before the participants. On this occasion 100 fruits and other plants were planted by the Ashram students under the guidance of Shri Mukherjee.
Smt Raj Mittal suggested to plant saplings on birthday of the family members. Shri VK Mittal said such programmes are very important for preservation of environment and human development. The programme concluded with plantation of saplings.

Seminar by Pragya Bharati on Indo-Israel partnership
Shri Alon Ushpiz said India-Israel relations have advanced rapidly over the last few decades. “Israel, today, is India’s second largest arms supplier while India is Israel’s eighth largest trading partner — with exponentially increasing military collaboration and ever expanding trade relations in a whole host of sectors. Unlike US, Israel has traditional joint family system more common with India. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, more than 60 joint ventures in agriculture sector have been initiated in India in the fields of irrigation and water management, fertilizers, greenhouses, tissue culture horticulture, use of solar energy, animal husbandry and dairy development. Joint ventures have been established in India for the manufacture of drip irrigation systems, floriculture and horticulture.”
Presiding over the function Dr Hanuman Chowdury, chairman of the Prajna Bharathi said Israel which was dismembered and the Jewish expelled from the land more than 2000 years ago was re-founded on May 14, 1948 by a special resolution of the United Nations, the former USSR and USA taking the lead to found it. It has no water or other natural resources. River Jordan (one of our large canal size) is the border between Israel and Jordan and the source of water for both. Its population is just 8 million, about that of greater Hyderabad

The main wave of immigration from India to Israel took place in the 1950s and 1960s; this generation maintains an Indian lifestyle and have close cultural links with India. It is befitting to note that a World Marathi Conference was held in Jeruselem.
Swami Dayananda Saraswati organised the first Hindu-Jewish meet in February 2007 in New Delhi. Facilitated by “The World Council of Religious Leaders” it was a beautiful meeting of two ancient, non-proselytising, non-converting religions who shared their beliefs, their traditions and their ideals with each other, finding much common ground between the two ancient traditions.

VHP training camp in Hyderabad
A two-day training camp for the workers of the Paschim Andhra Pradesh Dharma Prachar Samiti was conducted at the G Pullareddy Smarak High School at Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad from June 8 to 9.
A total of 92 people from 42 villages of 15 districts participated in the camp. At the inaugural ceremony Shri Telkunta Ramesh encouraged the workers to organise more such camps. Shri Surendra Reddy, Prant working president appealed to bring all those Hindus back to the Hindu fold who have been misguided by the propaganda of foreign missionaries.
Many dignitaries including Shri Hanuman Chaudhary, Shri B S Murti, Shri Suryanarayan Murti, Shri Keshavraju, Shri G Satyamji guided the workers. They also spoke about the greatness of Hinduism. In the concluding ceremony, International President of the VHP Shri Raghav Reddy asked the trainees to work tirelessly for the unification and harmonisation of the Hindu society.

Ludhiana unit of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat organised a function on June 8 to observe Martyrs Day. On this occasion the delegates expressed their views on the sacrifice of Guru Arjundevji. Delegates from 17 places of Punjab including Chandigarh, Mohali, Amritsar, Sangrur, Malerkotala, etc. attended the function.
