Swami Vivekananda remembered in Nairobi

Swami Vivekananda was paid a glorious tribute on his 150th birth anniversary year at Nairobi on April 28 by organising a blood donation and health check up camp.

Blood donation and health check up camp in Nairobi

Swami Vivekananda was paid a glorious tribute on his 150th birth anniversary year at Nairobi on April 28 by organising a blood donation and health check up camp. The camp was organised at Shri Ram Mandir, Parkland – Nairobi (Kenya) by Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee in association with various Hindu religious and service organisations of Kenya.

More than 150 units of blood was collected during the camp by Dr Pawan Agarwal and his team from MP Shah Hospital together with National Blood Bank of Kenya. Swami Vivekananda Blood Donor Group has active volunteers who are available to donate blood in any exigency. The Group maintained by Raju Soni for the sake of sewa to the mankind in the name of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda General Health Check-up Camp creates general health awareness where more than 350 people took an advantage to validate blood sugar status, body mass index and general check-up. They also took advice on nutritious diet through professional dieticians and body proportions. A team from University Students of Hindu Association performed wonderful role in serving people led by Tanvi.

Under Swami Vivekananda Eye Check-up Camp over 200 people took advantages by not only eye check-up but also by professional advices. Shri Ajay Agarwal and team execute a magnificent activity by doing this part of the programme through keeping people. Under Swami Vivekananda Eye Pledge Camp over 75 people registered themselves with Lions Club as a pledge to donate eye afterwards and lighten others life with happiness.

The camp began at 9 am with Shri Ganesh Vandana by Balikas from Samiti of HSS. Dy High Commissioner Shri Tanmay Lal, HCK Chariman Shri Swarn Varma and team, HRSC Chairman Shri Chhaganbhai Shah and team, SCLP Chairman Shri Bhimji Bhai and team, Shri Ram Mandir Managing Committee, HSS Team Shri Chunnibhai Shah, Shri Brahmji, Raoji, Shri Uttambhai, Ram Chandraji, Shri Prakash ji, etc.  Dy High Commissioner Shri Tanmay Lal spoke about Swami Vivekananda and his contribution to Hindus and mankind. The day long programme was a big sewa project, and people admired the whole act from the bottom of the heart. There were more than 100 volunteers to perform the programme without any interruptions.
