Height  of Muslim appeasement
(Organiser, 5.5.2013); It is shocking to read in the Organiser  that this timid government of ours instead of defanging the venemous section of the minority has yielded to their whims and caprices and stopped  Ramnavami celebrations at Ayodhya which were being observed their for the last 64  years. This clearly shows that the present government by hook or crook is aiming at the Muslim vote-bank in the coming general elections. A nasty piece of populism. This Muslim appeasement by the Centre openly shows that the Centre is aiding and abetting the spiral of intolerance woven slowly and surely to  strangle Hindutva. This pusillanimous majority is utterly unconcerned about the ban on performing Ramnavami. How is it that the media—newspapers tv have not written a word or spoken about this  shameful incident? Do they also  feel that no respect or reverence be given to the birthplace of Sri Ram? A cartoon, a film by a Coptic Egyptian resident of US, false rumours about desecration of the Koran, all these arouse resentment and outrage among the Muslim community, and importance, publicity and condemnation in the media occupy front page. The Bharatvasis who are deeply involved and care for the Hindu religion should have come out boldly to see that this celebration of Ramnavami should not have been stopped, thus freeing the holy city of Ayodhya from the clutches of the minority and ‘secularists’. It is disgusting to see the tepid attitude of our government and one fears that important issues like local issues and domestic and foreign affairs, role of the army, etc will hereafter be discussed and dominated by the minority—a finger in every pie. Why not we cowards accept that there is at least a  fundamental minority in charge of Bharat? Did ever Gandhi or Nehru realise when they accepted the creation of a separate Muslim state and allowed a large chunk of Muslims to continue living in Bharat too, striding two countries, that repercussions would blow out of proportion and create a situation as Mr Anand Prakash has rightly  said that “We will lose even truncated India.” in a letter titled ‘Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha’ in Organiser dated 28.4.2013.

Stories about Hindu refugees in Organiser  This  refers to a number of write-ups and news about the woes of Hindu refugees from Pakistan in Organiser. It is clear that government of India is not bothered about the fate of these Hindu refugees and not granting them even citizenship, although crores and crores of Muslim infiltrators from Bangladesh, who have illegally entered India, have been granted citizenship. I was disappointed to read these news and write-ups, as no one has  claimed that it was legitimate right of the Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jain refugees to come and settle in truncated India as Pakistan was created with the full concent of Congress leaders as an exclusive homeland for the Muslims. The truncated India was meant to be homeland for the Hindus and non-Muslims. These are historical facts and nobody can deny or oppose them. Therefore it was obligatory for the Indian government to immediately grant  citizenship to those Hindus and non-Muslims and provide all type of help to them so that they can settle respectfully, and also help them to sell their  belongings in Pakistan and Bangladesh. A move must be made to amend Article 5 and 6 of the Constitution of India so that these refugees get immediate citizenship. In addition exchange of population between India and Pakistan should also be demanded. This job  can be done by the VHP as it is  already committed to the cause of the Hindus, both at national level as well as international level. In case the government does not agree, Supreme Court of India should be approached with Public Interest Litigation  (PIL). This  is the only way to permanently solve the problem.

Hindu Munnani seeks strong action against fanatics (Organiser, 28.4.2013); Recently, the weapons training camp run by the extremist Muslim outfit Popular Front in Narath in Kannur district, Kerala was raided by the police and anti national documents, leaflets encouraging ‘Love Jihad’ and a cache of weapons were confiscated from the camp. What surprised law abiding citizens of Kannur was that such a camp in which dozens of extremists took part was being held at a place where the Muslim League and the CPM have strong presence. It is an open secret that there is an unholy alliance between the Popular Front and the CPM. During the LDF rule the then home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan tried his best to scuttle  terrorist  activities by the Popular Front in return for votes. Many active members of the extremist organisation are near relatives of Muslim League leaders. So,it is not easy to prosecute the culprits because of political interference. The only political party that perennially opposes the Popular Front is the BJP. The secret understanding  between the CPM and the Popular Front was  revealed clearly when the Kannur district secretary of the CPM vehemently opposed the protest march by the BJP to the weapons training camp.

Butchered by cowards (Organiser,  12.5.2013); The sad episode of Sarabjit has once again brought the issue of Indian PoWs and other prisoners, languishing in the Pak jails, in to the public focus. The failure of  weak Indian political leadership to get the release of gallant Indian soldiers and other citizens from the clutches of the barbaric Pakis is highly condemnable. But in the din the face of the real culprit, Indira Gandhi, should not go out of focus. After Indian victory in 1971 Indo-Pak war, we had over 93,000 Paki PoWs in our custody. The foolish lady, who unfortunately for the nation happened to be the prime minister of the nation at that time, could have got each and every single Indian soldier and civilian freed from the Paki jails in lieu of Pak PoWs. To get its soldiers back Pak would have not only released all the Indian prisoners but would have vacated not only PoK but would have vacated even Lahore if Indira Gandhi would have stressed. But she messed up everything at Shimla and allowed Bhutto to have the last laugh. What to talk about the gains she lost all across the table whatever was gained by the gallant Indian jawans with their blood in the battle field.

Changing face of Indian society (Organiser, 7.4.2013); Shri MV Kamath in his weekly column titled ‘Changing face of Indian society’  in Organiser writes with frankness and deep concern. He says, according to The Hindustan Times dated 8.3.2013, “a woman in Delhi is molested or  raped every two hours” and asks what pushes people to commit such crimes? We keep asking who, where, how, what action did the police take, etc. Do we ask why such crimes totally abnoxious to social beings take place? Are our social and human values falling rapidly? And if yes, why? Social behaviour is not for ever constant. It changes over a time. If it is too rapid or even too slow it creates confusion and even chaos. How can changes be implemented maintaining stability? Too rapid changes create confusion and chaos.  Maybe, likewise too slow. Are we giving undue publicity to sexual crimes? Does this create curiosity and mindless behaviour? Can society be impressed that male aggressiveness is not heroic but mean and contemptible. A strictly legal approach to the  problem diverts attention away from the human, social and societal aspects which are at the  root. Social changes are necessary and inevitable over a period in thought, word and deed. But that must be regulated. Crime and punishment are not the only issues. Other issues have to be examined which are to be tackled by great thinkers, well experienced social workers and practical  philosophers. The international  shame that this problem  is causing calls for quick solution. Police action should meanwhile continue efficiently though not aggressively.

It is as good as devil preaching Bible Making annotation on liquor by the activists of the Congress Party and preaching Bible by the devil are both one and the same. Congress people should read the Indian history prior to independence i.e the time when the  movement was led by Gandhiji. During that period Congress workers used to undertake picketing before the liquor shops, pressing  hard for their closer and demanding total prohibition of liquor. But see the power of time. Soon after independence the same people who were  agitating for total prohibition of liquor became liquor barons. Right from the time of independence  the Congress  Party has been mainly ruling the country. Liquor is being flown like water.  When the whole nation is facing acute shortage of  drinking water there is overflow of liquor and beer even in famine effected areas. The best example can be of Maharashtra State which has been badly effected by severe drought but there is no shortage of liquor in the areas.

BJP loss, but  not Congress gain (Organiser,19.5.2013); Manmohan Singh in his maiden budget speech in 1991 had quoted Victor Hugo in the context of economic liberalisation which was then introduced. The quote was,  “No power on earth can stop an idea whose time has come.” With slight change, I would like to say that, no power on earth can stop  the exit of Sonia Manmohan government whose time of demise has come, not even the Congress victory in Karnataka.

Nature: The Divine Mother (Organiser, 14.4.2014);  This refers to the article ‘Nature:The Divine Mother’ by Dr Bajranj Lal Gupta in Organiser, page no 14) Our earth is just like our house, we should understand how and where to dispose our waste and keep our sorrounding environment clean. Perhaps the world has badly mistaken the concept of Hindu religion in protecting and maintaining the environment. We have systematically separated and classified various elements of the nature like Wind(Vayu Devata),Fire(Agni Devata),Earth(Dharti Mata),Cobra(Nag Devata), etc. and have designated them as Gods. When the Hindu religion have made them gods, the concept behind them are bound to be respected, guarded and not supposed to be destroyed.Similarly, the Hindu religion have linked some trees  with gods, such as Pipal tree—Brahma, Banyan tree—Vishnu and Neem—Maheswara. Since we worship these trees, obviously we are not supposed to destroy  them. Apart from that a group of trees which are classified as Kalpavraksha, such as Mango, Coconut, etc.are also forbidden to be destroyed. Again on similair lines, the Hindu religion has designated certain birds and animals as gods. For example Eagle as Garuda  and Cow as Kamadhenu. The world should understand the reasons behind designating the elements of the earth, birds and animals as gods by Hindu religion. The simple reason is that all the mentioned above play a major role in keeping our earth eco-system alive.  Factors like deforestation, improper disposal of different types of wastes, excessive automobile emission, etc. has deteriorated the environment. Better late than never, the world should undertand the essence and concepts of Hindu religion, and stop attacking it.
