Vow to fight love jehad and minority appeasement

S Chandrasekhar

GIVING hope and joy to the approximately 1.75 crore Hindus of Kerala Nair service Society (NSS) General Secretary G. Sukumaran Nair met Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) General Secretary Vellapalli Natesan at his home in Kanichakulangara, Alappuzha on Monday 3rd September and signed a joint four point policy agenda. The coming together of the Hindu Nair and Ezhava communities who form roughly 35% of Kerala’s population is the best ‘Onam Gift’ which Kerala Hindus have had for decades.
The agreement says that the NSS and SNDP will take a united stand for the protection of rights of the Hindu majority. It charged that the political parties and state government are denying constitutionally eligible rights to the Hindus. With the Muslim league-backed Congress in power, this neglect has increased considerably. The Congress has surrendered to the Muslim league and Kerala Congress. The Congress and minorities are exploiting the lack of unity among Hindus. Hence the NSS and SNDP are uniting to protect Hindu interests.
As a prelude to the joint meeting and agreement NSS withdrew the writ petition filed in Supreme Court against hiking the creamy layer cap for reservation benefits. SNDP termed it as a noble gesture and followed it up by withdrawing the writ petition filed by it, in the Supreme Court. Thus the decades-long legal battles fought by SNDP and NSS against hiking creamy layer cap for reservation benefits for Hindu Nairs/Ezhavas came to an end.
Following up the unity efforts, NSS and SNDP have jointly vowed to fight and eliminate the ‘Love-Jehad’ threat. NSS and SNDP General Secretaries said as per records placed in the Kerala Assembly, 2195 Hindu girls and 492 Christian girls have been officially converted to Islam. Also records show that thousands of Hindu/Christian girls are missing from their homes in the past 3-4 years. These are victims of ‘Love-Jehad’. They said the alarming rate of missing girls is a cause of grave concern. Sukumaran Nair and Vellapalli Natesan said they will come out with a joint statement against religious conversion, be it Islam or Christianity
The BJP and Hindu Aikya Vedi have welcomed the tie-up of NSS and SNDP.
The strategy of the Muslim League to make maximum hay during UDF rule continues unabated. While its plan to convert 35 madarasa schools into Govt. Aided Schools were dashed due to strong RSS-BJP protests, it is going ahead with its plan to set up three universities at its stronghold, Malappuram—The AMU campus, and English and Malayalam varsities. The Muslim League is also upping its ante for starting an annexe of the Government Secretariat at Malappuram! Also in the new development initiative “Emerging Kerala”, thousands of crores worth of projects are to be allotted to Panakkad in Malappuram, the village of Muslim League Chief Hyderali Shihab Thangal. The BJP, NSS and SNDP have already charged that Kerala is being ruled from Panakkad with Congress as obedient servants. There are also reports the ‘Emerging Kerala’ initiative is a Muslim/Christian ploy to take over thousands of acres of Government Land in the name of development.
Not to be left behind, Christians have also started to raise their hands. They want to usurp thousands of acres of leased forest lands in Nelliampathy area of Palakkad. These forests have, over decades, been denuded and rubber planted instead. They now want ownership converted. The Kerala Congress, a Christian party is behind the move. But Hindu MLAs of Congress like V.T. Balram, T.N. Pratapan and V.D. Satheesan have strongly opposed this move. Balram strongly protested when Education Minister Abdurubb changed his house name from ‘Ganga’ to ‘Grace’.
The total unity of all Hindus in Kerala is the only solution to check Christian-Muslim pressure tactics;  the NSS-SNDP tie-up is most welcome at this critical juncture.
