Former Union Law Minister Dr Subramanian Swamy released a book on Emergency in New Delhi on June 25. Written by Rajya Sabha MP Shri Gopal Vyas, the book, Satyamev Jayate, has been published by Sanjivani Prakashan. The function was organised by Rashtriya Patrakarita Kalyan Nyas at the Constitution Club.
Releasing the book, Dr Swamy said the information collected in the book is very useful for those who only read about the Emergency and did not experience its terror and trauma. He said during those days some people were fighting against the autocratic regime openly, while some were active underground.
Shri Gopal Vyas said the book is an account of the pains and sufferings that the people underwent during the Emergency and their fight against the then regime. President of Hindusthan Samachar Dr Nand Kishor Trikha said the Emergency pushed the nation decades back. Former Governor Shri Kidarnath Sahni, senior BJP leader Shri Omprakash Kohli and many others prominent personalities were also present on the occasion. (IVSK)
