Sanskritise Indian languages to make Hindi popular

Countrywide celebration of Narad Jayanti

“We talk much about popularising Hindi, but nothing concrete is done. Since majority of the Indian languages have good number of Sanskrit words, there is a need to promote the use of Sanskrit words in all the languages. Through this way in a very short span all languages will reach closer to Hindi,” said Dr Subramanian Swamy while addressing a gathering of media persons and writers in New Delhi on the occasion of Narad Jayanti celebration on May 7. The function was organised by the Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra. Two journalists Shri Shripal Shaktawat from P7 News Channel and Shri Sant Sameer from Kadambini were honoured on the occasion.

Dr Swamy said the defamation suits have blatantly been used by politicians as a tool to silence the critical voices against them and deter journalists from reporting against them. “A journalist should not be afraid of defamation suits. In fact, all reporters should get a detailed and first-hand knowledge of the law governing defamation suits so that they can understand the scope of this law,” he said pointing out that till date around 125 defamation suits have been filed against him of which he did not lose even one.

RSS National Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar said that about 30 lakh people are elected in our country for different bodies but the entire work of the Parliament is done in a foreign language. RSS Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Kulbhushan Ahuja and president of Indraprastha Samvad Kendra Shri Ashok Sachdev were also present on the occasion.

In a similar function organised in Benaras on May 6, six journalists were felicitated. They included Dr Vashishtha Narayan Singh, Kumar Ajay, Arun Mishra, Badri Vishal, Sushri, Neelima Dixit and Loknath. RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal, former Union Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and Panchjanya editor Shri Baldevbhai Sharma were present on the occasion. Dr Krishna Gopal spoke about the security threat that the country is facing from different directions. Dr Joshi said the growing commercialisation and materialism are killing the credibility of the media. Shri Baldevbhai Sharma spoke on FDI in Indian media.    (FOC)
