“AFTER Independence the education system should have been reformed according to the nature, needs, culture and environment of Bharat. But unfortunately it did not happen. It is good that the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas has made remarkable contribution to reform the education system. This work should continue with renewed vigour,” said RSS Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak and noted economist Dr Bajrang Lal Gupt. He was presiding over a function organised in New Delhi on completion of seven years by the Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti on July 16.

Former Director of the NCERT, Dr JS Rajput said no country can make progress without good teachers. He said the time has come when the traditional Indian wisdom should be spread all over the world and Bharat should lead the world in education field.

Former Pro Vice Chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Dr Kapil Kapur was felicitated by Swami Shatananda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission and national convenor of the Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti Shri Dina Nath Batra for his outstanding contribution to the field of education. Receiving the Samman, Dr Kapur said though the country is village and agriculture-centric but our education system is purely urban-centric. This is the reason that the modern education system failed to cater to the needs of the rural youth. He stressed the need to impart primary education in mother tongue and also to reform the present examination system.

Shri Atul Kothari, secretary of Shiksha Sanskrit Utthan Nyas, said during the last seven years the Nyas successfully got seven court judgements in its favour and exhorted the countrymen through different activities.
