Dr Krishna Behari Mishra to get Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman

NOTED Hindi writer Dr Krishna Behari Mishra will be honoured with 22nd Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman for the year 2011. The Samman, which consists of a cheque of Rs 51,000, a citation and a memento, will be presented at a function in Kolkata on May 8. The Samman is presented every year by Shree Burrabazar Kumarsabha Pustakalaya.

Born on July 1, 1936 at Balia in Uttar Pradesh, Dr Mishra received PhD degree from Kolkata University. He is among the students who attended the classes of noted Hindi literary persons like Acharya Vishwanath Prasad Mishra and Acharya Hazari Prasad Divvedi. He retired from Hindi Department of Bangbasi Morning College, Kolkata in 1996. He has been honoured with many awards.
