DEENDAYAL Research Institute (DRI) in association with Madhya Pradesh Weaker Sections Welfare Commission organised a two-day workshop at Udyamita Vidyapeeth in Chitrakoot for finding the ways and means for uplift of weaker sections of the society. A total of 225 delegates from different parts of the country participated in the workshop which concluded on March 13.
At the concluding session on March 12 the workshop discussed at length the different issues related to weaker sections. They included identification of the weaker sections, welfare schemes for poverty eradication, etc. On March 13 the workshop prominently discussed the role of animal husbandry in welfare schemes and efforts to implement the welfare schemes for the weaker sections.
The workshop was inaugurated by former justice of Allahabad High Court Shri Rajaram Yadav. In his speech he said the model of development that Nanaji developed ensures the development of all sections of the society in totality. He also stressed the need to change the school curriculum.
Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University Prof. Krishna Behari Pandey said noted economist Amaratya Sen highlighted the same issues which were taken up by Nanaji. Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Weaker Sections Commission Shri DP Tewari said Madhya Pradesh is the first State in the country which constituted a Commission for the welfare of weaker sections and has also taken concrete steps in this regard. National vice president of BJP Smt Karuna Shukla also spoke on the occasion. Director of Udyamita Vidyapeeth Dr Nandita Pathak conducted the proceedings. (FOC)
