THE Bhoomi pujan ceremony for new building of Matri Anchal was organised in Haridwar on February 20. VHP general secretary (organisation) Shri Dinesh Chandra, joint secretary of VHP Shri Prakash Sharma and many senior saints of Haridwar were present on the occasion.
Matri Anchal is a residential project run by VHP’s central secretary Sadhvi Kamalesh Bharati for destitute girls and women. Started on August 21, 2000, presently the project is run in a rented building at Kharkhari. The land for the new building has been allotted by Uttarakhand Government at Jagjitpur locality. Urban Development and Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Madan Kaushik, Minister of State Nirupama Gaur and chairperson of Bal Kalyan Parishad Smt Neelam Sehgal were also present on the occasion and assured full support for the project.
Performing the Bhoomi Pujan Shri Dinesh Chandra said the work started by Sadhvi Kamalesh Bharatiji for helping the destitute girls and women needs generous support of the entire society. He said the prime objective of the project is to make the destitute women and girls self-reliant. Shri Prakash Sharma also assured full support to the project. Mahant Rajendradas of Bara Akhara Udasin, senior saint of Juna Akhara Swami Devanand, Mahamandaleshwar Maitreyiji, Swami Yatishwaranand and many eminent people of Haridwar were also present. (FOC)
