RUNNING on Full is the story of Tanya, daughter of a government official. His postings take her from the outskirt towns of India and across the oceans to Hong Kong. She has adventurous growing years, with her cousins in India and her multi-national classmates in Hong Kong. Back in Delhi, armed with a degree she settles down to the job of microbiologist. Only she gets bored too soon and quits it. She falls in love with Nasir, a cricket star and to her luck he reciprocates. He is a Muslim, living in Bombay. She takes up job as TV sports reporter in Delhi. The romance lingers on. But marriage eludes. In the meanwhile Tanya wins a marathon. In the background in her life now is Manav, who is steadily becoming important and Nasir is fading away. But when Nasir finally calls her and asks her to marry him, Tanya realises that she is in love with Manav. So all ends well. A bit of a Mills and Boons plot and end. This is Tina Sharma Tiwari’s debut novel. She is a sports journalist and television presenter. So the nuances about the sports world is first-hand experience. A lighthearted read.
