RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi described the Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh’s statement made about the RSS at Congree plenary session in New Delhi on December 19 as “an intervention in the investigation and the judicial process”. In a statement issued in New Delhi on December 20, he said, “In the cases where the investigation is still going on and no judicial procedure has began. Such irresponsible statement is intervention in the investigation and the judicial process. “Congress party’s talk of minority-majority terrorism is improper and puts a question mark on their seriousness in dealing with terrorism. Not only this, it is an indication of the extent to which patriotic people and organisations are likely to be falsely implicated,” he said.

“The statement of AICC general Secretary Shri Digvijay Singh regarding the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is irresponsible and completely without any basis. In fact it is far from the truth and entirely fallacious. Being besieged on all sides because of its own misdeeds, to divert the attention, the Congress party has levelled these false allegations on the Sangh.

Congress has been making such baseless allegations against the Sangh in a similar manner in the past also. Despite this, because the Sangh is connected directly to the people, the Sangh’s support in our society has been constantly increasing, he said.

“Congress has always been playing the communal card in pursuit of minority votes. Whenever Congress has found itself or its government in a difficult situation it has ineffectively tried making stinging allegations against the Sangh. This strategy had been adopted at the time of Independence, to divert blame from itself for the tragedy of the Partition. Subsequently, after the judgement of the Allahabad High Court setting aside Smt Gandhi’s election, the Congress party harped on the same theme in order to try to remain in power.

“The Sangh has made it amply clear earlier also that it neither believes in nor supports any act of terrorism or violence. The Sangh’s unequivocal position has always been that wherever such a thing occurs, there should be an in-depth and unbiased investigation and the guilty should be punished after due judicial procedure. In cases where the investigation is still going on and no judicial procedure has began such irresponsible statements is intervention in the investigation and the judicial process. Congress party’s talk of minority-majority terrorism is improper and puts a question mark on their seriousness in dealing with terrorism. Not only this, it is an indication of the extent to which patriotic people and organisations are likely to be falsely implicated.

“TheRashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh firmly believes that the citizens of our country have the wisdom and maturity not to fall for such tricks. With their support and goodwill, the Sangh shall continue to unceasingly pursue its path of service of society,” Bhaiyaji Joshi said. (FOC)
