THE intentional tirade against the RSS by some political leaders and investigators after dragging the name of Shri Indresh Kumar, Member of National Executive of RSS in the chargesheet filed by the ATS, Rajasthan, indicates that the politically motivated designs against the RSS and it’s workers are going on along with attempts to influence investigating agencies.
In the wake of the arrest of a Vibhag Pracharak of RSS Shri Devendra Gupta by ATS, Rajasthan on April 30, 2010, in a case pertaining to some bomb blast incidents in the country I had stated that the RSS neither believe in nor support any form of violence. I had announced our cooperation to the investigating agencies and called upon them to conduct a thorough and honest investigation against individuals who were alleged to be involved in acts of terror.
In the last several months, following that direction, our functionaries have extended full cooperation to the investigating agencies in the hope that they will deliver their duties fairly well. In the process our activists had to endure humiliations and in several instances physical and mental torture in the hands of the overzealous investigators. All this was taken in our stride thinking that perhaps the agencies were sincerely doing their job and hence a few indiscretions may be overlooked by us.
But the chargesheet filed by the ATS, Rajasthan, a few days ago in the Ajmer blasts case and the subsequent statements galore by the investigators as well as the politicians completely belie our expectations about an impartial investigation. The way the name of RSS has been dragged in with scant respect for the facts and the way senior RSS functionary Shri Indresh Kumar’s name has been invoked without any substantiating evidence makes clear that the investigation is influenced by and is no longer an honest one.
It is evident from the chargesheet that there were no formal charges against Shri Indresh Kumar, neither was he named as an accused so far. In fact the investigators have not even once talked to him in the last several months during the course of their investigation. Yet to drag his name through a meeting of which he had no knowledge is a clear case of conspiracy to damage his reputation as well as that of the organisation. Several politicians also started talking irresponsibly without verifying the facts. Even a section of the media too showed undue haste in wrongly projecting Shri Indresh as an accused and started attacking the Sangh.
We are now convinced that contrary to our expectations and hopes the investigations into the bomb blast cases at Ajmer and Hyderabad are turning political and vindictive and there are clear signs of a sinister design to defame the RSS. Let me make it clear that while we are a Constitution-abiding organisation with full faith in the process of law we can’t be cowed down by unscrupulous and sinister political conspiracies.
I am constrained to announce that the malafide intentions of the investigators and their political masters will be challenged by the organisation on all the available fora including the courts. I am also obliged to inform millions of swayamsevaks and supporters of the organisation that the Sangh is committed to it’s mission of building a united, strong and vibrant Bharat and a disciplined and patriotic society. Our march towards the mission will continue in spite of several hurdles on the strength of the love, trust and support of our countrymen.
Statement by Shri Indresh Kumar
RSS National Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar described the attempt to frame him in the Ajmer blast case as a ‘well planned political conspiracy.” In a statement issued in New Delhi he said: “ATS conspired an absolutely baseless story, though I am not an accused according to the chargesheet of ATS. It is unfortunate taking this matter to the court of law. RSS does not believe in any type of social or political violence. I am ready to face it lawfully, and I request the media that instead of becoming an instrument in this conspiracy, they should bring the truth before the people. I also request the media not to allege and malign the image of Sangh and Sangh adhikaries.”
