BHARATIYA Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) conducted many programmes across the country on September 17 to celebrate Vishwakarma Jayanti. Big rallies were held in Shimla, Rohtak and Ludhiana. In other parts of the country also the workers organised various kinds of functions and submitted memorandums to government authorities.
The function in Delhi was attended by RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pracharak Pramukh Shri Madan Das. Addressing a gathering at BMS headquarters he advised the BMS workers to strengthen the work in unorganised and Vanvasi sectors. “The work in organised sector has now many limitations. But the problems of the workers in unorganised sectors and Vanvasi areas are still unattended. Since the BMS is number one labour organisation, it is the responsibility of it to address the problems of those workers also,” he said.
BMS president Shri Girish Awasthi provided detail of the recent activities conducted by the BMS. He said the BMS did not participate in the joint strike of trade unions on September 7 as it did not want to create any hurdle in the organisation of Commonwealth Games. “We had advised them to postpone the strike till November, but they rejected our suggestion,” he said.
