“ZAHIR-UD-DIN Babur is not the identity of Indian Muslims. Our identity is Khwaja Gharib Nawaz and his spiritual message,” said noted Islamic scholar Ghazi-e-Millat Hazrat Syed Shah Mohammad Hashmi Miyan who also belongs to the dynasty of Prophet Mohammad. He was delivering a discourse at Shahid Smarak Bhavan in Raipur, Chhattisgarh recently. The discourse was organised by Mohammad Salim Ashrafi, president of Chhattisgarh State Wakf Board.

“Many people came to India. Babur was one of them. Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Hazrat Moinuddin Chishty also came here. But the objectives of both of them were different. Babur came for zameen (land) and political power while Khwaja came for deen (religious purposes). No doubt Islam entered India for land also, but it is equally true that majority of the Muslims came for deen,” he said. “It is an undisputed fact that no Indian Muslim is the progeny of Babur or Humayun, Akbar, Shahjahan, etc. Muslims here are the progenies of Khwaja Gharib Nawaj and saints, sufis, darveshas who purified our soul. If somebody wants to see the progenies of Babur he should go to Kabul where it is difficult to find even his grave today,” he added.

Referring to global terrorism and the involvement of some Muslims in it, he said the fathers of terrorism in the world are two countries-Saudi Arabia and Israel. “There was no terrorism in the world 70 years back. Both Hinduism and Islam are older than 70 years. Hinduism is rather a sanatan dharma. To go into the roots of terrorism we have to find the countries which are 70 years old and they are Saudi Arabia and Israel. Both these countries are today promoting and abetting terrorism all over the world. Israel created terrorism among non-Muslims while Saudi Arabia created it among Muslims. No one can today deny this fact that there was no terrorism in the world before the emergence of Saudi Arabia,” he said.

“Saudi Government demolished 350 mosques. Even the mazars (graves) of Prophet Mohammad’s wife, daughter, son-in-law, mother, father, etc. were razed by them in Mecca. Is it not religious terrorism and fundamentalism? Both America and Britain remained silent when these mazars were razed. But India had protested against it. Nobody had then thought that this religious fundamentalism would assume the political form also. History has witnessed that when their religious fundamentalism assumed political form they never thought of Hadis, Prophet Mohammad and His teachings. If they can raze the mazars of even the Prophet’s family members, we can easily understand how fundamentalist their ideology is. Now it is not difficult to understand the objectives of the ‘religious movement’ which is being run on the money provided by such people (Saudi). This religious movement is known as Wahabi movement world over.

“These very Saudi-aided people have misguided the Indian Muslims. They created Tablig Jamaat for those Indian Muslims who are religious by nature. Similarly, they created Jamaat-e-Islami for the Muslims who are some educated. Jamiat-ul-Ulema was created for those Muslims who have political ambitions. Similarly, SIMI was created for the Muslim students who have some extremist feelings. They first brainwash the people and those who are found with fighting spirit are exported to terrorist outfits like Hizbul Mujahiddeen, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Taliban, Al Qaeda, etc. This is the reason that any member of Hizbul Mujahiddeen, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Taliban or Al Qaeda who is found involved in terrorist activities, has connections with Wahabi movement. There is a need to encircle the dirty pond, which acts as supply line for these terrorists and that supply line is the Wahabi movement,” he said.

Describing both Saudi Arabia and Israel as ‘two hands of America’ he said America first used Saudi Arabia against Russia and now it has targeted India. “But I am sure it will not succeed in India, as it is the land of saints and spiritual personalities,” he added.

The noted Islamic scholar objected to the terms of ‘Hindu terrorism’ or ‘Islamic terrorism’. “If you name it ‘Hindu terrorism’, the terrorists will mingle in 80 crore Hindus. If it is named as ‘Islamic terrorism’ they will mingle among 20 crore Muslims. There is a need to identify these terrorists. There is no place for terrorism in the Indian ethos. There is a need to investigate as to why all the terrorists arrested in Azamgarh, Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Chhattisgarh or in any other part of the country, belong to only the same ideology. Since we all are aware of that ideology, we should not remain silent and courageously expose it,” he said.

He appealed to the Muslims to save the unity and integrity of the country and protect the nation from further partition. “The unity and integrity of the country should be supreme for all of us,” he said. He also appealed to Muslims not to indulge in cow slaughter as it hurts the sentiments of Hindus. “The Prophet has allowed us to eat all the fruits and vegetables. But we do not have permission to eat all the animals. Therefore, we should not indulge in cow slaughter as it deeply hurts the sentiments of our Hindu brethren. If you can change your dress on the advice of your wife, children or friends, why can’t you change our food on the request of your neighbour? Take the meal that not only makes you healthy but also protects your padosi dharma (duty to neighbour),” he added.

Referring to Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute he said whenever the elections approach this issue becomes hot. “It is unfortunate that this issue has been complicated so much. Islam has very wide and open thinking about a mosque. We believe that the whole world is a mosque and we can offer namaz anywhere. But it does not mean that the every piece of land where we offer namaz becomes a mosque. If we sit together we can resolve any dispute. Howsoever, intelligent or educated a person is, he is illiterate if he does not understand the requirements of time. We need to understand the conspiracies that are being hatched against our country. We must protect our country as a responsible citizen. Therefore be a good citizen and impart this samskar to your younger generation, family, neighbours, locality, country and then to the whole world. The time and energy that you have been wasting in fighting against each other should now be utilised for the good of the country,” he said.
