VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal reiterated that the final and lasting solution to Ramjanmabhoomi issue could be found only through the Parliament. “That is why the High Powered Committee of the saints initiated a wide ranging programme in the form of Sri Hanumat Shakti Jagaran for awakening the Hindus and other nationalists of Bharat and also overseas Hindus. The highlights of the four-month long programme between August 16 and December 17 would be mobilisation of crores of Hindus through collective recitals of Sri Hanuman Chalisa at lakhs of temples and other sacred places and passing of a resolution calling for handing over Sri Ramjanmabhoomi to Hindus through a law of Parliament,” said Shri Singhal while talking to mediapersons in New Delhi on August 27.
He made it clear that the seriousness and sincerity of this sacred programme would not be compromised irrespective of the outcome of the court judgment, because this programme would ensure handing over of Sri Ramjanmabhoomi to the Hindu society on the one hand and ensure peace and goodwill in the country on the other.
“The saints High Power Committee clearly resolved that this movement is a matter of faith and belief of over a billion Hindus that form 1/6th of the global population, and no one should exploit it for votes. The saint fraternity also urged all political parties to support this common national cause rising above party politics and bury their differences unanimously to enact a Parliamentary law for handing over the birthplace of Sri Ram at Ayodhya to the Hindu society. The saints made it absolutely clear that to Hindus the birthplace of Sri Ram is not a ‘property’, but as much a ‘deity’ as Sri Ramlala and, therefore, worthy of worship in this capacity. Millions of devotees have since sacrificed their lives for the sake of this site. The temple marking the birthplace of Sri Ram will be built after the model-the picture of which is adored at millions of homes – and towards which cause crores of Hindus have each offered Rs. 1.25. The temple will be built with the carved stone blocks kept safe and secure at Ayodhya workshop which thousands of pilgrims have darshan daily. The saints have declared that no mosque would be allowed to be built within the cultural boundary of Ayodhya and no mosque glorifying the barbaric foreign invader Babur would be allowed to be built anywhere in the whole country,” Shri Singhal said in a press statement.
