THE senior saints who have been leading the Ramjanmabhoomi agitation for about three decades clearly made it clear to the UPA government that partition of the Janmabhoomi would not be accepted at any cost. “We want only Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya. We can wait for the reconstruction but cannot accept any negotiation over the Ramjanma-bhoomi. There are more than sufficient mosques in Ayodhya as per the population of Muslims, but the Ramjanmabhoomi is one and only one in the world. The land that has been acquired basically belongs to Ramlala,” said chairman of Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. He was speaking at the VHP’s Central Managing Committee meeting organised in Ayodhya from July 14 to 15.
President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Mahant Gyandas said we are ready to sacrifice our lives but would not leave the claim over the temple in Ayodhya. He said all the saints across the country are ready to discharge their duty for the protection of dharma. “The Akharas have basically been formed for the protection of Hindus society. The workers of nationalist organisations are soon going to visit each and every village and city of the country to start second phase of the temple movement,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal said Ramlala could not be seen under a tarpaulin for long, now each and every Hindu would have to engage himself in the task for reconstruction of the temple. “The way the obstacles were removed earlier, we have to generate the force to again force the government for it. The Hanumat Jagran Abhiyan beginning from August 16 and the organisation of Mahayajnas and public meetings in more than 8,000 blocks thereafter will again generate the similar force. We will launch the final battle if need arises from this campaign only,” he said.
VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia said the temple would be constructed only at the place where Sri Ramlala presides today. He also made it clear that no mosque would be allowed to be constructed within the cultural boundary of Ayodhya and similarly no mosque would be allowed to be constructed under the name of Babur anywhere in the country.
In a resolution on deteriorating situation in Kashmir, the Managing Committee demanded the UPA government to leave wavering policy and crush the separatists with iron hand notwithstanding the propaganda at international level. “The separatists of the Valley are the playmates of Pakistan. Therefore, the Central government should not commit a mistake to repeatedly invite them for dialogue. The demand of autonomy by certain forces there is basically nothing but ‘the attempt of getting freedom’. Kashmir must be handed over to the army without any delay. The VHP and the saints feel that the Article 370 should be scrapped without any delay otherwise not to speak of taking back the PoK, we may have to lose remaining Kashmir also. The people of Kashmir would not allow separation of Kashmir from Bharat. The Amarnath Yatra episode must have made the government to realise that it will have to bend before the public force,” the resolution said.
The resolution strongly objected to the economic packages being granted to Kashmir and said by granting such packages the government is honouring their treachery.
In the resolution on Manipur, the meeting urged the UPA government to clear the blockades going on there on the national highway for more than 100 days. It also stressed the need to widen the highway into four lanes. “It is necessary to arrest and sternly punish the fugitives like Moiva of NSCN (IM) to give a befitting reply to all the anti-national elements. The resolution also said that the Naga organisations have full backing of the Church which terrorise the Hindus of Manipur and other areas. They indulge in many illegal activities like extortion, etc. but the UPA government is not aware of the plight of the people there.
The meeting also expressed grave concern over the inaction of the government against Naxalites. “The Naxalites by assuming the form of a full fledged army are repeatedly indulging in massacres but the government has failed to evolve any effective policy to combat their menace. By connecting the Naxal terrorism with lack of economic development the Prime Minister is showing his confusion over this issue. The politicians who describe the Naxalites as their brothers and sisters and also talk about economic development are just helping these terrorists,” the resolution on Naxal menace said.
“The conference appeals to the government to evolve a firm policy against it and leaving any kind of confusion use army against these elements who are backed by the Church and the ISI of Pakistan. Instead of blaming each other the State governments and the Central government should accept it as a national disaster and must involve the society also in giving a reply to this menace. This meeting also appeals to the general public to identify and expose the supporters of Naxalites in various parts of the country,” the resolution added.
The meeting welcomed the March 31, 2010, decision of the Supreme Court which directed the release of 100 children kept hostage in a Christian organisation in Tamil Nadu by a Christian pasture of Manipur. Expressing concern over the growing incidents of child trafficking and sexual exploitation of children in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra and Delhi etc. the meeting appealed to the Union Home Minister to initiate stern action against those involved in this heinous crime. The meeting pointed out that there are about 20,000 Christian organisations in the country which run hostels and have lakhs of children. Ninety nine per cent of these children belong to Hindu families and by admitting them in hostels they are converted to Christianity. Thousands of children from there are sold to foreign countries in the name of adoption. Some of them are also exported to terrorist activities going on in Nagaland and Mizoram etc. “Therefore the VHP appeals to the Prime Minister to constitute a three member Supreme Court judges joint committee to investigate this matter,” the resolution said.
About the sexual exploitation of children by Church leaders within the premises of the Church and the educational institutions run by them the meeting demanded immediate stoppage of financial help to such organisations and also ban on adoption of Indian children by foreigners.
