NEW DELHI: A large number of media persons, opinion leaders and intellectuals from all over the country are meeting here for two days to evolve a national consensus on an amicable resolution of the centuries-old Ayodhya dispute.
The issue will be discussed and debated at length in the two-day national seminar on Ram janmabhoomi – Dispute, Resolution on July 24 and 25, 2010 at the auditorium of Sarswati Bal Mandir, Nehru Nagar Delhi-65. Dr M M Joshi, former Union Minister will inaugurate. Keynote address will be delivered by eminent scholar and author, Dr B L Gupta. Justice Rama Jois, former Governor will chain the session.
Arif Mohammed Khan, eminent thinker and former Union Minister, Hari Jaisingh, veteran journalist and author, Joginder Singh, former CBI Director, Justice D S Tewatia, former Chief Justice Punjab & Haryana High Court, M N Krishnamani, senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Bhupinder Yadav, Advocate, Dr. Rajneesh Arora, V C, Punjab Technical University, Prof. Satish Mittal, historian, Arun Kumar Sharma, Advisor, Archaeology, Chattisgarh Government, Dr. A K Mishra, archaeologist, Prof. Swadesh Sharma of Delhi University and K G Suresh, veteran journalist and editor of Media Critique are prominent among those who will present papers at the seminar.
The seminar is being organised by the Chandigarh-based Panchnad Research Institute – a non-profit, non-government organisation that was set up in 1984 to undertake studies and research on contemporary issues and those of lasting and fundamental significance to the society. It holds seminars, dialogues and symposia on major national and international issues, organises annual lecture series and publishes books and a Research Journal that contains papers by eminent authors and thinkers belonging to all hues and persuasions. Its 30-odd study centres spread over north-west India regularly hold monthly discussions, lectures and seminars, according to Shyam Khosla, chairman of the Institute.
