Economics and development should be the rationale for new states—Mohan Bhagwat

“The constitution of new states should facilitate administration only. We may constitute any number of states, but we should not forget that there should be no harm to the unity, integrity and security of the country and distinct cultures and identities should finally merge into the national entity,” said RSS Sarsangha-chalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. He was addressing a gathering of uniformed swayamsevaks at Kothi Meena Bazar in Agra on December 13. Agra Prant Sanghachalak Dr Avadhesh Pratap Singh and Vibhag Sanghachalak Shri Hiralal also shared the dais.

About the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen he said the Hindu view of life is necessary to save the environment. “The environment can only be protected by following the Hindu view towards the nature that permits to take only as much as one requires from the nature and forbids its exploitation in any form,” he said.

Shri Bhagwat said the uplift of Bharat is necessary for the uplift of the world and the uplift of Hindutva is necessary for the uplift of Bharat. He said the RSS has been generating this feeling among the countrymen for the last 84 years.

He said all great personalities, before and after Dr Hedgewar, stressed on the fact that the development of the country is possible only by generating the feeling of patriotism among the countrymen. He said the Sangh has been generating this feeling right from the day one. He said the country needs the people who work selflessly. He said Bharat became slave only due to forgetting the habit of worshiping the strength and keeping in view the behaviour of certain neighbouring countries, the need of gaining strength has increased.

The RSS Sarsanghachalak made it clear that Hindutva takes all together and it has welcomed even the people coming from foreign land. But these foreign elements cannot become the identity of Bharat. “Bharat has welcomed the great personalities even like Jesus Christ, but this land is identified with only with Sri Ram and Sri Krishna. Hindutva is not only the identity of Bharat but it reflects its purusharth also,” he added.
