The Malleswaram Bhaga of Bengaluru Mahanagar organised Sri Gurupooja Utsav on July 19. Speaking on the occasion, Shri V Nagaraj, Kshetra Bauddhik Pramukh said terrorism, conversion and attacks on ancient Hindu culture are the reason for today’s commotion in the society. He gave a statistical figure to prove his point. In 1947, Nagaland and Mizoram had 0.5 per cent Christians while at present their percentage is 95 per cent. According to him conversions not only pose threat to the Hindu culture but also to the whole nation. He said America is successful in curbing terrorism because of active participation of their citizens and stressed the need for people in India to cooperate with the Government to contain terrorism by alerting the police and the authorities concerned about any suspicious persons.

Presiding over the function, Shri T Balakrishna, chairman of St. Ann’s, Venkat and Venus Group of Institutions, said missionaries are converting people in rural and backward areas by offering money, employment and education. Remedy to solve this problem is to start more schools and health centres all over Karnataka, even in remote areas, so that Hindus do not depend on the mercy of missionaries for the school education and basic medical treatment. Shri VN Virakthamutt, RSS Malleswaram Bhaga Sanghachalak also shared the dais.
