Ever since the UPA Government has come to power the country has been witness to many terrorist attacks. It has not only exposed the inability of the government to protect its citizens but also made India a soft target for terrorists and other anti-national forces. Political parties like the Congress and the Left have aggravated the situation even further by expressing their willingness to go to any extent while practicing vote bank politics and crass secularism.

Secularism could have been a noble thought had it not been perverted for short term electoral gains by the so-called secular parties. On the one hand, there is the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre which has ignored and dishonoured the entire judicial system by not executing the death sentence handed out by the Apex Court to Mohd Afzal, the prime accused in attack on Parliament House case. On the other hand, there are the Left parties in Kerala which take pride in mollycoddling the PDP leader Abdul Nasir Madhani, the prime accused in Coimbatore blasts case. He is under scanner for his alleged role in the Bangalore blasts last year.

Madhani has also been accused of having links with two Malayali youth killed in Jammu & Kashmir on Oct 26, 2008 while attempting to cross the line of control. When the Police conducted a probe into Kerala'sterror links with Kashmir it concluded that many key players in the network had close links with Madhani'sfamily or were his followers.

According to media reports Kerala Chief Minister Shri V S Achuthanandan has expressed his displeasure on the CPI (M) ? PDP pact to the politburo. He has said that only a full enquiry will exonerate the Madhani from allegations of terror links.

By defending Abdul Nasir Madhni the CPI(M) is not only trying to defend the indefensible but also putting another question mark on its dubious secular credentials. Therefore, the State Government and the CPI(M) should immediately clarify their stand on the issue. The Union Government should also come out with a statement on the growing network of the terrorist organisations in the ?God'sOwn Country?.

The PDP is a communal outfit which has been blamed for stoking communalism in several towns of Kerala. The brazen vote bank politics pursued by the Left parties and the Congress has pushed the country towards a greater risk of vitiating the social harmony in the country.

In its desperation to garner Muslim votes, the CPI(M) is not only working in tandem with anti-national parties like the PDP but also persuading other communal outfits like Jamaat-e-Islami in Kerala and West Bengal.

The Jamaat has been vociferously demanding implementation of the Rangnath Mishra committee report which recommended 15 per cent reservation for minorities with 10 per cent exclusively for Muslims.

The BJP firmly believes that any attempt to introduce religion based reservation facility in the system would not only destablise the country and also push it towards a partition like situation. No government has the right to divide its poor people on religious lines.

Time to check growing terror in Pakistan
The March 30'sterror attack on a police training centre near Lahore has once again proved that terrorist activities has been continuing unchecked in Pakistan for the past many years. Inspite of growing sentiment against terrorism in the world and billions of US dollars spent to fight a war against terror the incumbent government in Pakistan had not been able to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure present on its territory.

Keeping in mind the growing menace of terrorism and increasing Talibanisation of Pakistan and also its potent spill over effect in the South Asian region it is high time for the international community to restructure and rework its strategy of war on terror.

The BJP believes that any war against terror and Taliban would not succeed unless it is jointly fought by the US and other prominent players (India and Pakistan) in the South Asian region under the UN (United Nations) supervision.

Pakistan is fast forwarding the process of becoming a failed State. If Pakistan becomes a failed state it would certainly annihilate the democratic forces in the country and could bring a regime which would create a bigger problem for the world in general and India in particular.
