Noted nuclear physicist, space scientist, management consultant and former vice president of VHP America, Dr Shiva Subramanya passed away at Cerritos, California on January 8. He was 76. He was nominated twice to US Air Force Scientific Advisory Board and was formerly one of US top strategists.
Born on April 8, 1933 at Holenarasipura under Hassan district of Karnataka, Dr Shiva went to USA in 1963 as a doctoral student in nuclear physics with vast credentials in academic and applied fields of science and engineering. At the time of retirement in 1998, he was an established expert in strategic and tactical CI with several accomplishments. He travelled around the world and delivered numerous lectures and talks on wide range of subjects including frontier sciences, philosophy and Hinduism. Since 2001 he was in near-death health problems with multiple myeloma and knee infection with removal and replacement of both knees with artificial ones. He supported the philanthropic and educational activities of many organisations in US and India.
Besides having degree of BSc from University of Mysore, MSc from Karnataka University, Dharwad, PhD in Nuclear Physics from Clark University, USA, MBA from California State University and DBA from Nova University he held special diplomas in nuclear physics, electronics, statistical quality control, telecommunications, data communications, digital communications, microelectronics, industrial engineering, nuclear hardening, statistical processes, computer programming, advanced astro-dynamics, advanced orbital management of space assets and celestial objects, space CI, space and terrestrial communications, project management etc. He was honoured with AFCEA International Meritorious Service Award in 1985, AFCEA International Medal of Merit in 1990 and Several dozen Commendations from the US Military, US Aerospace Industry.
