Samarasata Sahitya Sammelan in Hyderabad

Samajik Samarasatha Vedika, Andhra Pradesh, organised a Samarasata Sahitya Sammelan at Keshav Memorial School in Hyderabad on December 6, 2008. The Vedika had conducted competitions in poetry, songs, prose and small story categories on death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. This function was organised to present prizes to the winners and to conduct a literary discussion on the importance of literary activities to achieve social harmony and also to honour some poets. Acharya Masana Chennappa presided over the function. Shri V Rama Rao, former Governor of Sikkim, said, ?We could not build the national spirit and unity in our youth even after 60 years of Independence. Samajik Samarasatha Vedika is trying to achieve national unity and social harmony by eradicating caste-based inequalities through a good number of literary activities. Their efforts are commendable and I request everyone to co-operate with them in this endeavour.? Shri Ramesh Patange, editor, Vivek, sent his message on Samarasata in literature. ?Separatists, terrorists and extremists are the real untouchables,? said Acharya Masana Chennappa. Acharya T Mohan Singh, former head of Hindi Department in Osmania University, Acharya P Kanakayya, head of Telugu Department in Telangana University, Nizamabad, Dr Ashavadi Prakasa Rao, former Principal of Penugonda, Anantapur, and Aacharya Sarath Jyotsna Rani, head of Telugu Department in Central University were honoured on the occasion.
