Burdwan, West Bengal, unit of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas organised a workshop on autonomy of education at Vivekananda Shishu Mandir on November 23. About 60 teachers belonging to three Shishu Mandirs of Burdwan and few teachers from Burdwan Holy Child School attended the workshop. The chief speaker was Dr Chandra Bhushan Sharma, Prof of Education in IGNOU, New Delhi. He discussed in detail the distortion of culture, religion and history of the country, which have been published in the textbooks prescribed in BA syllabus of Delhi University. He highlighted the instances how the culture has been insulted and dishonoured in those books.
