Nationwide bandh by ABVP

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) observed nationwide college bandh on November 12 to draw the attention of the country to the problem of Bangladeshi infiltration. The ABVP leaders said the problem of Bangladesh infiltrations has been raised as a big challenge for internal security and in spite of the proved involvement of infiltrators in recent bomb-blast, the Government is not taking any action against them. The bandh had nationwide impact. According to the figure excluding the six states i.e. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Vidarbha, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh, all the other region have shown a good response. As per figures available, 12,685 colleges, 25,203 high school and coaching institutions were closed. Especially in Delhi University, 32 colleges were closed in support of the bandh. A rally was organised in which ABVP national organising secretary Shri Sunil Ambekar said that the bandh was very much successful. He appealed for ?Chalo Chicken Neck? for the national cause. Further he informed that all together 50,000 students would be participating in this national activity.
