The Indian nation, as it stands today, appears to be in the state of transition. The original nature of India is trying itself to reassert. Yet there are certain obstacles which need be tackled. Terrorism, fragmentary tendencies, communal rivalry and divisive forces are trying their best to suppress and forestall India'sprogress and resurgence.
Non-aggressive India
As we all know, India is like a flower bouquet in which assorted flowers of different hues and colours are grouped together. The majority of Indian population is Hindu because India has been their traditional homeland since ages. Invasions and onslaughts in the past millennium saw various other ethnic elements settling down here. A Hindu by nature is an amicable, tolerant and soft personality. He is intelligent, religious-minded and basically non-violent. But his non-aggressive nature was exploited by other communities of the world. India was forced to see quite a long period of suppression and slavery due only to her Atithi Devo Bhav attitude.
Aggressive Muslim nature
History stands witness to the fact that wherever in the world, there are Muslims in abundance, they have established their kingdoms only by adhering to violence and oppression. If we take a look at the world history, we shall witness that this has been the common trend of the Muslim empires everywhere. This statement is not merely an exaggerative assertion. Scholars of History know for sure that this is a fact. Any one interested, can conduct a detailed research on this particular topic and find out the facts to verify its authenticity.
Muslims ? Well-placed in India
It is a fact that facilities and privileges enjoyed by the Muslims in India are not available to their fellow brethren in other parts of the world, not even in Muslim ruled states. Not only that they are equal citizens at par with the Hindus and other communities, they enjoy equal rights of voting and equal opportunities of job and employment.
Muslim brothers in India should consider themselves fortunate for these special gestures, which are for their benefit. It should be a matter of pride for all the Muslim brethren in India that Muslims have adorned such top-most posts like the President, the Vice-President of India. Even the apex body of justice in India?The Supreme Court, also have had Chief Justices from this so-called minority community. Anybody who is trying to create disturbance by spreading rumours that minorities are not safe in this country, should ponder upon these facts. Such propaganda is nothing but a conspiracy to divide the country once again.
Terror-sponsors
It is really an unfortunate matter that wherever terrorists are apprehended and arrested in any part of the world, they are mostly from the Muslim community. You will hardly find a Hindu or a Christian or a Persian or a Buddhist among them. Nearly 80 per cent of the extremists hail from the Muslim section. 9/11 (September 11) is widely known as the ?Dooms Day? in America and elsewhere in the world. The elements responsible for the destruction of the colossal WTO (World Trade Centre) were also Islamic followers.
Peaceful coexistence? The only remedy
Broad-minded and liberal members from the Muslim community of India must undertake special efforts to educate and enlighten their fellow brethren so that they are exposed to concepts of liberality, open-mindedness and the principle of Live-and-Let-Live. They should exhort the Muslims to shun their narrow mindsets, go out into the open and breathe fresh air in the light of themes like ?Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam? (Whole world?one family), Peaceful Coexistence and Global Camaraderie (Comradeship).
There have been liberal poets like Abdul Rahim Khan Khana, Ali Mohammed Ras Khan and Mullick Mohammed Jaisi in India, who fearlessly spread the message of communal harmony and common fraternity. Personalities like Rafi Ahmed Kidwai and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam can be the ideals and role-models for the present-day Muslims.
Constitutional amendments
The government of India should remove terms like ?Majority & Minority? from the Indian Constitution and float the common term ?Bharatiya? which is non discriminatory and all-conclusive. This will help demolish the wall of division and hatred among the sons and daughters of India.
Any organisation which believes in hatred, fanaticism and violence must be banned. This is in the interest of the society. Terrorists and extremists must be punished immediately as soon as their guilt and crime is proven. Criminals like Afzal Guru who are guilty of charges like sedition and conspiracy against the Indian State, must be hanged without delay. Any criminal who goes without punishment, surely provides encouragement and abetment to other such anti social elements.
This holy and noble land of ours, which has traditionally been the natural habitat of our sages and rishis, where sacred hymns of the Vedas were sung with utmost piety and purity, let it shine once again with its ancient pristine glory. Let us together not allow any hostile element to spoil the divinity that envelopes this Bharat Varsha and makes it worthy to be the abode of the Gods and Goddesses.
I humbly urge every Indian to join hands and toil hard for the progress and prosperity of the Indian nation so that once again we can sit proudly amongst the front rankers in the comity of the world-nations.
