Bangalore, 29 August: The Art of Living has appealed to all especially doctors, to join the relief work in the flood-affected areas of Bihar. Volunteers of the organisation have already started relief work in the districts Khagaria, Katihar, Purnia and Bhagalpur.

Based on the feedback from the volunteers on the field, plastic sheets, medicines (for fever and infections of stomach and skin), food items, water purifying tablets, match boxes, candles, clothes, boats, life jackets, life saving ropes and bleaching powder are urgently needed for the relief operations.

Teams of volunteers will soon be reaching the worst-affected districts of Arariya, Madhe-pura and Supoul. Apart from ensuring emergencies supplies, the Art of Living will also conduct trauma relief workshops in partnership with UNICEF.

The organisation has also offered to help the state government in the distribution of aid material. The Art of Living is among the largest volunteer based organisations with a track record of effectively reaching out to people affected by natural calamities.
