Dr Prakash Charan Prasad is no more

Joint central secretary of VHP Dr Prakash Charan Prasad passed away on June 20 in Patna. He was 70 years old. He is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters. Dr Prasad was director of Archaeological Department of Bihar. He was also founder president of Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, Nepal. He played a key role in bringing the then King of Nepal the late Virendra Vikram Shag Dev closer to the VHP. He was appointed General Secretary of VHP in 1990 and since then he dedicated himself to the work of VHP. He had good relations with the head of various countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Japan. Sri Lankan President Shri Jaivardhane had praised his work. He was also national president of Samajik Samarasata Manch.

Born at Chhoti Balia village of Begusarai district of Bihar on January 2, 1938 Dr Prasad was first student of Bihar who received a degree of D.Lit from University of Bihar. Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Sushil Kumar Modi, zonal organising secretary of VHP Shri Ram Bihari, Kshetra Pracharak of RSS Shri Swant Ranjan, Prant Pracharak Shri Anil Thakur, zonal convener of Bajrang Dal, Shri Sushil Kumar and various other leading personalities of different organisations paid their tribute to the departed soul.
