May 10 has an important significance in the history of 1857 war of Independence. The Sanskar Bharati has designed scores of programmes to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this war of Independence. Different kinds of functions are being organised all over the country under the banner of ?Naman 1857?. Sanskar Bharati organised a three-day programme at Bithur (Kanpur) from February 15 to 17 where it decided to observe countrywide silence for 57 seconds on the completion of the 150th anniversary of the war of Independence. All the countrymen, social, religious and other organisations, have been appealed to observe silence at 6.57 pm on May 10 to pay tributes to the martyrs of the Freedom Movement.
