Our writers should have the courage of conviction to call a spade a spade. There are not many men of letters in the media who can have the nerve to look into their own shortcomings. But Shri Prabhat Jha, basically a journalist himself, has taken up cudgels to find fault with his own fraternity wherever he found it wanting. He has tried to make the media look inwards to find where it stands in the estimation of the general public.

These were the words of Deputy Leader of BJP Parliamentary Party in the Rajya Sabha, Smt. Sushma Swaraj while releasing the three-volumes of Shri Prabhat Jha'sbook Jan Gan Man in the tastefully decorated Rabindra Bhawan at Bhopal on March 2. The book has been published by Archna Prakashan, Bhopal.

Calling the 777-page book as inspiring, Smt. Swaraj said he has touched almost every issue that is and has been of contemporary value and that has touched the heart of the common people. It is a collection of his thoughts on nationalism in which he has regretted the unnecessary controversy over the national language, the national song Vande Mataram, Ram Sethu and many other issues. In the process the writer has tried to smash many of the myths prevailing in the minds of the people, she said.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, commended the book and asked Shri Prabhat Jha to let his pen continue to write fearlessly and endlessly.

Shri Banjrang Lal Gupta, senior member of the RSS karyakarimandal went deep in explaining the meaning and importance of the book'stitle jan gan man in the life of man and mankind.

The Rabindra Bhawan was full to capacity with the elite presence of men and women of letters and politics which included RSS Sah-sarkaryawah Shri Suresh Soni, former CMs Sunderlal Patwa, Kailash Joshi, Babulal Gaur, MP BJP President Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Vice-Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi Journalism University, Shri Achyutanand Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of Kushabhau Thakre Journalism University, Shri Sachchinand Joshi, and many Ministers, MLAs and MPs.

Speaking about his book, Shri Prabhat Jha, National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party said it is a collection of his writings as published in various newspapers, magazines and Kamal Sandesh fortnightly. He said that whenever anything happened in the country that touched and hurt the mind of the common people, he could not contain his feelings and gave these an expression in words. He expressed happiness that his Party had so large a heart as to accept the reality.

In the function Smt. Sushma Swaraj honoured the writer Shri Prabhat Jha and CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan felicitated the well-known columnist Shri Bharat Chand Nayak for their valuable contribution to the world of writing by presenting a shawl, a bouquet and a shreephal.
