Before taking the oath of the office for the third time, Shri Modi has set his future target for his ?Jitega Gujarat? and announced it before his beloved Gujarati families. While lauding the common man of Gujarat for his victory, he said that the agenda for the elections was not set by any political party, the media or us, but it was set by the common man of Gujarat and that agenda was development. ?We have been given the mandate of development by the common man,? Shri Modi said. ?This victory in 2007 will help us in the forthcoming general elections. We will form a stable government at the Centre under BJP'sbanner,? roared Shri Modi. ?In the coming days, I want to increase the pace of progress?, Shri Modi said and added he wanted the benefit of development to reach all those living in the state. ?I want the gap between the rural and urban areas to diminish. By the end of 2008, all the 18,000 villages in the state will have all the facilities present in the chief minister'schamber,? claimed Shri Modi and added that he will provide Information Technology connectivity to the rural areas of Gujarat. ?Gujarat will become the first place in Asia where villages will have IT connectivity,? announced Shri Modi and added that long-distance education through video conferencing facilities will also be made available in the state. Shri Modi also spoke about his proposal to the central government about creating a separate ?intelligence-cadre? and a university for developing the man-power needed for the internal security of the country.
