Expressing concern over the threats to internal and external security of the country, the BJP president Shri Rajnath Singh held the UPA government'spolicies responsible for the present chaotic situation in the country. He said: ?The country is passing through a phase of crisis. The internal security of the country is completely in danger. The central government, for the sake of its vote bank, is decreasing the number of army personnel from J&K, whereas to combat terrorism there the increase in the number of army personnel is imminent. Today, more than three crore Bangladeshis have entered illegally into India, posing a serious threat to nation'ssecurity. According to intelligence sources, about five thousands infiltrators are ready to enter into J&K. China is endeavouring to capture Arunachal Pradesh.? Shri Rajnath Singh charged the central government with not knowing its policies towards Sri Lanka. ?Today Nepal is falling under the grip of Maoists, which would prove to be harmful for our internal and external security. But the central government, under the pressure of Marxists, is turning a blind eye to these developments,? he alleged. Shri Singh said the NDA government enacted POTA to curb terrorism but the UPA government for its politics of vote bank scrapped this law, thus rendering the law-enforcing agencies toothless in combating terrorism.

Speaking at the convention, Chief Minister of Rajasthan the Smt Vasundhara Raje said that BJP on the basis of the developmental works done by its government in the state would again come to power in 2008 elections. She said, leaving aside Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra, Rajasthan has registered faster growth than that in other parts of the country. Informing that investment to the tune of 30 to 50 thousand crore has been made in the state, Smt Raje said that her government not only lifted the ban on the government jobs but also created opportunities for new jobs for the youth of the state. Criticising the central government on the issue of providing reservation to the financially backward people, she said the centre is making fool of the people. ?We constituted a commission for reservation to the financially backward people. We reduced the period of the commission from three years to six months and the government will take steps on the recommendations of the commission,? she said.

BJP'snational organising secretary Shri Ramlal said the activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morch are the architect of the future India. ?The Yuva Morch will have to mould itself in the way in which it wants to mould the society and the country,? he said. Emphasising on increasing the number of Yuva Morch activists, he said that it will not only increase the reach of the organisation but will also give a new direction to the organisation. Vice president of BJP Shri Venkaih Naidu laid emphasis on the development of villages of the country, without which the country cannot tread the path of development. BJP secretary Shri Arun Jaitley said that while the youth of the country, braving the global challenges, are climbing the ladder of development, the central government has totally collapsed on the front of development. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighting the importance of ?Ekatam Manavvad? in the present scenario, said the essence of all Bharatiya philosophies is Ekatam Manavvad. Dr Mahesh Chandra Sharma, state president of BJP, said that the central government through its deeds has earned defame for the country on the global arena. He exhorted the youth of the country to work for the revival of the glorious past of the country.

Other prominent persons who addressed the convention included Shri Joginder Singh, former CBI director, Shri Ramdas Agrawal, Shri Bal Apte, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad and others. A political resolution was also adopted at the convention.
