The recent activities of Akhil Bharatiya Dristihin Kalyan Sangh have drawn praise from various sections of the society. Recently it conducted a 7,500 km rail journey for promoting eye donation across the country. The Kolkata unit of Kalyan Sangh observed birth anniversary of Hindi poet Surdas on April 21. Shri Dilip Ghosh, all-India organising secretary of the Kalyan Sangh spoke on the occasion. On April 23 also the Surdas birth anniversary was observed at Halishar North 24 Paragana. Shri Jagdish Chandra Modak, a noted writer, who is also the vice president of West Bengal unit, inaugurated the function. Shri Bijan Krishna Kulvi, prominent social worker, was chief speaker. Shri Dilip Ghosh urged the necessity of donating eyes after death. More than 100 people from various walks of life including students, teachers, traders, government employees, astrologers participated in the function. An eye specialist, Dr Manoj Kanti Sarkar resolved to work for the Kalyan Sangh. Later a free eye-examination camp was organised under the supervision of Dr Arindam Ray and Dr Manoj Kanti Sarkar.
