In a crowning honour to it, on its silver jubilee year, Bharatiya Vichar Kendram, the Kerala branch of Pragnya Pravah, has been recognised as an approved research body of the ?Maharishi Dayananda Saraswati University?, Ajmer, Rajasthan. The approval is for conducting research in economics, history, management, politics, education, philosophy and Sanskrit. Bharatiya Institute of Advanced Research, a research wing of the Bharatiya Vichar Kendram, located at Samskriti Bhavan, Thiruvanan-thapuram has been given this status by MDS University, the biggest in Rajasthan with 170 colleges, 70 courses and affiliated colleges and bodies in almost entire north and north-east Bharat. This is the first out-of-campus affiliate in South India.

Since its inauguration by legendary Dattopant Thengadi in 1982, the BVK, directed by early-bird pracharak, ideologue, exponent on Hindutva and Padmashri P. Parameswaran, has been functioning as a bulwark of resistance against the communist game plan to dominate the ideological, social, cultural political and educational plane, stifling all dissents. By functioning as a Centre of Studies for National Reconstruction, the BVK by organising seminars, symposiums, debates, talk series etc. has been flying the flag of an alternate opinion, high.

The propagation of Bhagavad Gita and the international seminar on Bhagavad Gita in which the Dalai Lama took part, National Seminar on Research for Resurgence, intensive courses on Indian History, Samyogi, a combination of Sanskrit, Yoga and Gita are but a trifle of the activities carried out by the Kendram.

Padmashri P. Parameswaran, the Director, has attended several international conferences on religion, as an authority on Bharatiya way of life and Hindu religion.

Speaking to the media, Shri Parameswaran said he was happy that the honour came during Guruji Janma Shatabdi year. He said the silver jubilee of BVK and inauguration of the research course will be held between 27 and 29 of April 2007. Mohan Lal Chippa, Vice-Chancellor of MDS University and Ghanshyam Tewari, Education Minister of Rajasthan, will attend the ceremonies. The BVK also plans a series of seminars on the 150th anniversary of 1st war of Independence?1857.
