Sabarimala temple, where almost 3-4 crores of pilgrims from all over the world, come to have darshan of Hari-Hara Puthra ?Lord Ayyappan?, during the pilgrim season of November-January is always in the hit-list scanner of Jehadi outfits and ISI. Pilgrims coming to Sabarimala are being regularly targeted in the Muslim pockets en route to Sabarimala. Routinely vehicles carrying pilgrims were attacked and pilgrims assaulted.

Intelligence agencies have time and again warned the State Government that security provided at the hill-shrine is grossly inadequate commensurate with the huge volume of pilgrims and the security threat. But both the Congress-led UDF and the CPM-led LDF have done literally nothing to streamline and professionalise the security system in Sabarimala. They are more interested in gaining Muslim vote- banks by passing unanimous resolutions for release of Islamic terrorist Madhani. Also for them, Sabarimala is a milch-cow because the temple generates revenue of almost Rs.2,000/- crores during the 90 days season.

In a grave security risk, which would have resulted in dangerous repercussions throughout the country, police arrested three Islamic extremists Shahul Hameed, Hakeem and Allapit, all accused in the Coimbatore blasts case, targeted on L.K. Advani, from a hotel adjacent to the temple at Sabarimala, on December 5. They along with 21 others, who escaped, were working in a hotel under false Hindu Names! All the 24 persons who were having fake identity cards, with Hindu names were given police verification certificates by the Tamilnadu Police! This shows the deep planned network of Islamic terrorists in South India.

Police have strengthened security and are combing the place for flushing out the extremists. Central Intelligence sources say that almost 70 persons with fake identity cards are operating in Sabarimala and are planning something drastic. They had also videographed the entire area in the guise of journalists.

VHP state organising secretary Kummanam Rajasekharan has called upon the LDF regime to provide fool proof security to the temple and pilgrims. He has called for tight monitoring of all the persons employed in eateries and hotels adjacent to the temple. He demanded arresting all persons with fake identification papers and high level probe into the grave security threat.
